Wedding dress cleanning and steaming after alteration

Hi, laides:

I plan to have my wedding dress alterned else where even though I bought it from DB. Which also means, I am giving up the free cleanning and steamming of my dress at DB (yes, they offer that when you buy your wedding dress there).

So, I have Sarina or Manny's in my mind in Forest Hill to do my alteration.

Does anyone know if they provide cleanning and steaming of the dress on top of the alteration service? Any experience to share?

Also, how much does it cost to clean anyways?

Thank you very much.

Re: Wedding dress cleanning and steaming after alteration

I am having Sarina do my alterations, and when i asked her about this she mentioned something about steaming it like with a hand steamer (the kind many of us prob have at home) and i did not feel comfortable with this. I wanted it professionally steamed and cleaned. A good friend of FH owns a cleaners and is going to do it for me. I'm not sure what it normally costs or what he's gonna charge me considering him and FH are good friends.

My original plan before this came about was to call up the wedding salon in manhasset and ask who they would recommend (just cuz they are right where i live and might recommend someone close by)

HTH!

Re: Wedding dress cleanning and steaming after alteration

Thank you so much for the information. It seems like Sarina only does alteration and desn't provide professional clean and steam.

I would want to go to a place that can do both though.

Or is there anyone who goes to Manny's or Sarina have the same concern?

I called DB already and I know they are not going to do the cleanning if I alter my dress else where, kind of disclamer of the responsibility.
