Re: Wedding Dress Poll

I got it for $999, but after taxes, rush fee and alterations it's probably going to cost me around $1500. I still think I got an awesome deal!!!
I bought my dress at Helen's in Commack... It's the most beautiful Sottero & Midgley dress!!!

I was planning to spend between 4 - 5k, and that's where I ended up.

Definitely look into trunk shows. I got mine at one and saved 15%.

Same here! My dress was originally over 6000 but I ended up getting it at a trunk show at the Wedding Salon in Manhasset and spent a little over 5000 on the dress and veil together. Definitely more than I would have liked to spend but my mother is paying for the dress and she insisted that I get the one I ended up with.

my budget was 3k

ended up saying yes to a 1700 dollar dress

bought it for 1200- bought the brand new sample off the rack

with alterations tho its back up to 1700 lol

and adding some bling to it so it will be a little over 2000 when all is said and done

Re: Wedding Dress Poll

I fell in love with a dress at Davids bridal when I was there borrowing dresses for a fashion show fundraiser I was doing for a school club. I watched it online and one day saw the price drop so I called and found out they were discontinuing the style. I knew it was the one so I bought it for $550 two yrs before our wedding lol everyone thinks I'm crazy oops! But guess what? I'm happy I did it!

What I 'planned on' was less then what I spent :) But I love my dress, it's been months since I chose it and I never second guess my decision.

Re: Wedding Dress Poll

I had allowed for $1500 dress and $200 veil.

I ended up paying $2070 for both with a good deal. I could have paid up to $2700 for both at another place.

The dress style that I wanted isn't that available, and there was a premium that I had to pay for that.
