Wedding dress price

Wedding dress price

Hey girls! I fell in love with a wedding dress that was way out of my budget. My mom offered to buy it for me, but I won't let her! It's just too much for one day, in my opinion. I hope I find something very similar for a lot less! Did any of you girls say no to the dress you loved because of price? Did you stick to your budget or did you find yourself spending more than intended?

I voted. I did not go in with a set budget in mind. BTW we are using the same videographer!

My dress was in the 3's, but it was an all lace gown, which tends to be a little pricier because the fabric is more expensive... If i were going to buy one of those fitted satin rouched gowns with the beaded belts that you always see on Say Yes To the Dress, I probably wouldn't have gone over 2k, only because that fabric is not pricey, and the style is so popular that you could find a similar dress in the 1000-1500 range easily

Same as above. I didn't go in with a budget, but I really didn't want to spend an obscene amount, I'm not down with 30k Pnina dresses or something.

I think you should follow your heart, and if you fell in love with a dress, go for it. Dress regret is an AWFUL feeling, I went through it. Don't settle unless you're in love. (Like choosing a mate)

I voted but I didn't go in with a budget. I went in and tried a lot of dresses on not looking at the price. Originally I wanted to stay around a certain amount but my dress was more than that because I bought 2 belts which were $375 each- woops!

I didn't stay within my budget. I wanted to spend no more than 2k on the dress plus alterations. Luckily I negotiated my dress and the alterations and got EVERYTHING (dress, hollow to hem, AND alterations) for 2400. Originally the dress itself was 2500. So I think I did good with negotiations and felt better about going over budget ...

I voted even though I haven't gotten my dress yet, but My mother said 2k is our budget so I know it will be in that range.

I expected to find a dress for $3,000 and my dress was $1250 on sale for $950!!! WOOHOOO

My dress was 1300, I couldn't see myself going over 2k for 1 night. There are so many gorgeous gowns in the 1000s and sometimes it is the brand name you are paying for.

I didn't try on any dresses out of my (aka my moms) budget. Including tax & veil we went over by $3 so it wasn't a big deal to my mom (she & my dad are paying).

I believe mine was around $3100. Maybe a little more.

My budget was $1,200 and I found an AMAZING dress for under $1,000! It was actually probably originally priced at $2,000 but it was being discontinued, so I got it for a steal!

I did not really have a budget but I wanted to stay under $2,000. I got my dress with 20% off at Macys Bridal Salon when they had a trunk show. Originally it was a $2,000 dress and I got it for 1700. I am glad I was able to get that discount.

I didn't have a budget... At 32 yrs old, I'm still daddy's little girl and he was buying me whatever dress made me happy. Turns out the one I fell in love with was only $700! Win!!

I knew my mom was doing this on her own so in my head I had a budget I can not see spending a ridiculous amount of money on a dress for one day.. I wanted to stay under a thousand.. I stayed under 500!! and the dres looks like it was made for me. I didnt even look at price until we had our tear moment LOL
