Wedding Events?
How many of you did or plan to do all the events that surround your wedding?Engagement Party
Bachelorette Party
Bridal Shower
Wedding Shower
Rehearsal Dinner
Post-Wedding Brunch
We didn't budget for any of these except the rehearsal dinner and wonder if they are really necessary. We may do the post-wedding brunch, as a way for guests to have there final good-bye before they head home and before we leave for our honeymoon. If we do all of these, we'll be way over our $40k budget and since I like to be over the top, I might as well not attempt it! And a spa day is included in my package from my planner, I might count that as a bachelorette party! LOL
What events are you doing?

Wedding Events?
We did an engagement party, but paid for it out of pocket. (Our parents are paying for the vast majority of our wedding.)I'm not really sure the difference between a wedding shower and a bridal shower, but from what I understand, the bridal party and mother of the bride are sort of in charge of the bridal shower if you have one.
My bridesmaids are planning to throw me a (not over the top) bachelorette party. I'd be more than fine with a nice dinner for everyone. I don't need to go away for a weekend or have some crazy 'Hangover' night or whatever, I did that in college, while I was still single. LOL
I probably will have a rehearsal dinner, but depending on what the budget is looking like at that point, we may pay for that out of our own pockets also.
I saved a ton of money for my engagement party, so if you have any questions or want some suggestions, feel free to FM me, I'll help in any way I can!

I will thanks! I need some ideas, I may just do it myself and not include my planner.

Re: Wedding Events?
Didn't do an engagement party and not sure about a post-wedding brunch. We haven't discussed that yet.I'm doing everything else, although to be perfectly honest, I REALLY don't want a bachelorette party. I know that sounds weird, but I'm not into the whole 'GIRLS NIGHT OUT!!!!!' thing. If anything, I'd just want to do dinner out or something. Even the moms can join. I'm just not into the whole bachelorette thing!

Wedding Events?
We had an engagement party which both my father, his father and us contributed to.Bachelorette party my sister (MOH) said she will be paying for me but all invited must pay their own way.
Bridal shower I foresee my mother doing since she did my sisters. I am sure I will contribute to that as well.
A Wedding shower I am not sure what that is?
Rehearsal dinner we will definitely be having and I am anticipating my FH and I to fund that solely unless our parents want to contribute.
We are undecided about the brunch but the hotel we are all staying at does provide a room for that. We just figured it would be a waste of money because the hotel provides a complimentary breakfast the next day so rather then having to pay for a brunch, we might just invite everyone to breakfast around the same time.
