How do you feel about venues with multiple events going on at once???
Are they actually private like the places SAY or should I expect to be seeing guests of other weddings???
I am bombarding this forum with questions but I have sooooooooo many questions!

Re: Wedding Factories
Some places are really good with it and can make you feel like the only bride. Other places are awful with it.

Re: Wedding Factories
I got married on a day when two other brides were getting married...I NEVER saw the other two brides, but did see their guests. It was no big deal to me. You're so wrapped up in what's happening with YOUR wedding and YOUR guests that seeing them means nothing. Actually...it's kind of nice when they're telling you how beautiful you look...they don't have to say things like that like your guest do.

Re: Wedding Factories
Some places are bad with it, some are better. One place I had to walk outside in the rain to avoid walking through a different reception, but we saw all the other wedding's guests in the foyer and picking up our car. I went to one at East Wind on Labor Day night, and the wedding was the only event there, which was great. It was huge, but they had the place all to themselves. Had they not, they would have shared the bathrooms with other weddings.

Re: Wedding Factories
I had my wedding at a hall that does multiple events at once, but it just so happens that I was the only event happening at the time.
If I hadn't been the only bride, it wouldn't have bothered me. After all, I've shared my birthday with my Matron of Honor my whole life, and I'm super social. Heck the day I bought my wedding dress, another girl bought the same dress and I went over to talk to her!

Re: Wedding Factories
most of the time you don't see the bride... but you will see the guests moving from cocktail to dinner... I used to work at one of them a million years ago... that's why I wanted a place like Flowerfield.... one bride..... all the best!!!

Re: Wedding Factories
DH and I couldn't justify the $ it would cost for a 1 at a time venue. We got really lucky though!!! our hall can conduct 3 events at a time, we were the only event there that evening!

Re: Wedding Factories
I wanted to be the only bride on my wedding day but that is just me.
BUT, I have been to MANY wedding places where there were numerous weddings going on at the same time and honestly I never saw the other bride. Once I was in the room dancing and having a good time, I really never noticed and honestly didn't care. I don't think any of the other guests noticed either.
Just FYI you will pay to have one wedding at a time and sometimes it's a big difference.

Re: Wedding Factories
I went to one once, and I saw 3 other brides, and their wedding parties, having pictures taken, walking around, etc. I personally wanted to be the only bride, but it wasn't BAD that there were 3 there. That's just even more people celebrating the best day of their lives! The one problem was really bad, though- They had the ceremony there, in a chapl that was 2 stories high. And there was a window 2 stories up, to the hallway outside another room. During the ceremony, there was dance music and DJ shouting thumping LOUDLY throught he window. That would have been bad for me.

Re: Wedding Factories
There was a wedding going on an hour after my wedding started. I didn't see the other bride the entire night and I wanted to see her because she was a LIW bride. I didn't see her until the end of the night when I was waitig for my shuttle & her wedding ended. Other than that we had our own bathroom & own floor so I saw no one.

Re: Wedding Factories
BTW - If you have any specific halls in mind you should FM girls that had their weddings at those halls. They would have better insight as to whether you would see brides and their guests.

Re: Wedding Factories
My problem is that I have a small headcount. (100-125 people) Most of the one event venues require higher headcounts and/or my guests will be swimming in the space.
This is so extremely stressful.

Re: Wedding Factories
That's okay. I talked my venue down on the headcount. That was actually the easiest thing for me to talk down. The money was a little bit harder. Where are you looking?

Re: Wedding Factories
It depends on the place i've been to hall with other weddingd going on aond you did not notice that because they had hall attendants in the lobby directing traffic.
My hall does not do two weddings at once... they may do a wedding and a sweet sixteen

Re: Wedding Factories
Personally, I was not okay with the possibility of seeing another bride going in or out of the bridal suite on my wedding day. East Wind offered the lower price of a multiple function location, with all the privacy of a single affair location because each of the venues are in their own building and separated from one another in such a way that IMO you have to try to see the other brides (if there are any) to get a peek.
