wedding favors

hey ladies, could not wait to get back home to tell u guys about a great idea i thought of doing for my diy wedding favors. ............... since some of the wedding favors that ppl get go to the garbege or break, or even go to the garbage, i thought that maybe instead of getting irregular favors, i would give my guest a box of six chocolate coverd strawberries decorated like a bride and groom i will put them i nice decorated boxes with a nice tulle bow.ppl will enjoy them what do u ladies think

Wow you'd spend $35 on each favor?

Oh I didnt see the diy in there! They are so cute though and I am sure with practice you can make them look the same if not better!

I personally love the idea, but I must worn you that chocolate covered strawberries will only last 1-2 days. I wanted to make my own cake, but my mom has talked me out of it saying it would be way too stressful. Try chocolate covered oreos!

Why don't you try a small batch now, just to get an idea. It may work, but with my experience they usually start to go bad after 2 days. The strawberries get mushy and the moisture gets pushed out to the chocolate and make the chocolate sweat.

it won't work that far ahead. as soon as the berries touch something liquid they start to breakdown. They're going to start releasing their juices and the chocolate won't stay on. (I used to own a chocolate store)

If you were looking to do something chocolate why not try something molded? You can make them in advance (keep them in a cool dry place -- NOT in the fridge -- if you put them in the fridge and then take them out they start to sweat and the condensation will cause the chocolate to streak)

If you have any questions jsut let me know!

I had this happen when I have leftover dipped strawberries.
When I make them, it is usually the same day they will be eaten or at the latest, the night prior.

If you want to do something edible and chocolate dipped, how about oreos, biscotti, pretzel rods ?
