Ok so how many weddings have you gone to where you take your favor home, looked at it and said *** am I going to do with this.....and than threw it out? Any ideas for useful wedding favors that aren't going to cost me an arm and a leg?

Re: wedding favors
I have way too many chatchas as I like to call them. I say do something edible. No one is going to want to look at 'x' ... I rather see the couple personally then look at a momento for dinner or something!
Just my opinion! What about ...
Something Edible If you are doing a photobooth some type of fun frame Or if not, just a fun frame that someone could a picture they had taken at your wedding A very fun idea a friend did was send photos that we were in after the wedding! That was the best momento!
Those are just a few I thought of!

Re: wedding favors
I hate favors I'll never use!!!
I am giving out Pizza cuter favors...everyone needs a pizza cuter (or a spare one!).
I LOVE edible favors! Sugar Chic makes really good cookie favors...they're delicious and beautiful!
I also love wine favors...I will so use that too!

edible favors are the best! I threw out so many favors and I dont need ANOTHER wine bottle stopper ... I went to a fresh approach everyone LOVED the truffles! and I gave out a bottle of wine to go with them

Re: wedding favors
I agree with everyone about getting home and saying to mys elf what am I going to do with this. Instead of favors I am going to make a donation in lieu of favors to my and fh favorite charity. I will have scrolls made that say that a donation has been made in their name. If anyone has any questions about this let me know.

Re: wedding favors
no favors here...making a donation to a charity in lieu of favors..i have a whole box of silly thinks i've gotten over the years...seems wasteful to me. But i do agree with the girls who suggested food based stuff...if you want to do something.

Re: wedding favors
Hmm, good ideas ladies!
I like the chocolate chip cook idea. Does anoyone have a store recommendation for edible favors?
FH likes the wine bottle opener with knife. It's nice but idk if I like how it looks on the tables.. Orginally was between two favors:
1. Wallet picture album - figured guest could put any pictures they want in them AND the cover of the picture frame can act as a placecard holder.
2. Little glass jar and fill it with candy.
3. FH idea of bottle opener/wine thingy

Re: wedding favors
Some useful favors are edible things such as chocolate, wine, coffee, tea, cupcakes etc. Also practical items like ice cream bowls, ice cream scoops, wine glasses, coffee mugs, pizza cutter, ice bucket ( i got one at a wedding I went to) something people can use again.

Re: wedding favors
I really like the ice-cream scooper idea. I actually don't have one and now I want one. But i'm definitely doing an edible favor, people love those and can give them away or to the kids when they get home, rather than throw them out.
I just realized that when i was cleaning this morning, I threw out the wine bottle stopper from a wedding a few months ago.

Re: wedding favors
I'm thinking of doing glass heart shaped photo coasters.... how can you throw that away?!?
You can even put your own photo in it!
And we got matches too with our wedding date & names. Not the only thing we will have but just a little extra thing.

Re: wedding favors
The BEST wedding favor DH & I received at a wedding was a movie ticket to AMC theaters.
So DH & I got to see WALL-E on the bride & Groom----it was so cool!

Re: wedding favors
one suggestion I'll make - I used to work for a promotional product company, and I did orders for weddings all the times - bottle openers, scoopers, etc. If you're going to order them - go big or go home. Don't get the $1.99 ones - they WILL break or not work. Trust me.
