Hello I'm new. My fiance and I are thinking about getting married in New York around Christmas time - with just the two of us there.
Where would be a good location? Also any websites that are useful for this?
Thanks

Christmas time is beautiful in the city. Do you have a preference? Some do it on the top of the Empire State building.

We have never been to NY before. We live in Ireland and have our honeymoon booked at the New York Palace. We are thinking of cancelling our wedding here and doing it in NY instead but haven't a clue about where would be good

You will need at least 1 witness (other than the officiant!)

A friend of mine did that at a nice B&B or somethign in Seattle and they needed 2 witnesses so they just used the hotel workers.

You can usually grab one of the people working or something to be a witness.

I dont know about all the specifics, you have to look into that but some places are. Empire State building, rockefeller center ( pretty busy though at Xmas time), central park ( daytime ) outside St Patricks cathedral ( I dont know if thats aloud but its a beautiful place) If i think of more i will let you know. Also I am sure the plaza has some amazing spots you could use

Rockefeller Center would be beautiful Christmas time. If you do want to do that though, contact them now since that's a busy time of the year.
Grand Central Station is also a possibility

You know what could be really cute- do it while on a carrage ride through central park. It might be cold- but it would be very different! You may be requiered to have two witnesses though- check the marriage laws on that one cus Im not sure.

these are two great places, but do you want a really busy touristy place or something more quiet and private?

Maybe you can do city hall and then afterwards go out on the town, which plenty of people do.

Re: Wedding for just 2
Are there any good firms/websites who could help me organise something from here?
I guess I would need to arrange cars, photos, hair and make up, venue to get married in/at and a meal afterwards.
Should I email the hotel to see if they would know of anything?

Don't forget to check if you need any special documents for getting married since i'm guessing you guys aren't US citizens. Not sure how it works there, but I'm getting married in Austria and its alooot of paperwork.
