Are there any places to buy a wedding dress that people actually have a pleasant experience??? All I hear is horror stories from places where the salespeople are rude and pushy or the seamstress *****. I don't want to have a bad experience!!! Please help. Oh, and I am also looking for a place that carries Maggie Sottero gowns, preferably the whole line.

Re: Wedding gown stores
I got all of my dresses from Renate's in Lindenhurst. They are very sweet and helpful there. They have tons of Maggie's - I tried on at least 10. They have a whole room of MOB dresses and a nice selection of BMs. I also priced my dress after I left at other stores (am ordering next month) and they had the best price. We were there for like 5 hours and I was sad to leave.

I had a great experience at Fantasia Bridal in Rocky Point--carries lots of Maggies, I went there and only tried on Maggies, and found my dress! Linda helped me and she was great...really listened to what I liked and didn't like about the dresses I was trying on to find others I would like...I had an open mind and I think that helped as well! I just ordered at the end of September, so I can't tell you about the rest of the process yet, but Fantasia helped me have a great experience my first time trying on gowns!! HTH!

YES YES YES!!! another for FANTASIA BRIDAL IN ROCKY POINT!!!!! they are SO incredibly awesome!!! they're right on the corner of 25A and rocky point rd. You will only find raves! Their selection is ENDLESS...and their staff is so nice - little marie is the cutest! They're probably the only shop that didn't give me an attitude about trying on crazy amounts of gowns..they just kept bringing me dress after dress after dress! Their seamstresses are also renound on the island...AMAZING! we ended up getting our BM dresses through them along with tuxes, shoes, etc...complete attire for the entire bridal party. They give u great discounts, plus they'll beat the price of ur gown if u find it cheaper elsewhere...check them out! they're great!

I had a great experience at Lillettes in Baldwin. They have a lot of Maggies, but I've never heard of any salons carrying whole lines of a designer.

Re: Wedding gown stores
unfortunately everyone does have a different experience at the same store, it all depends on who helps you...some salespeople are very helpful and nice and others are rude, maybe find out which salespeople girls on here though were real nice and ask for an appointment with that specific person. Just about any place you go to it will all depend on who you have that day helping you...good luck

Re: Wedding gown stores
The only place I had a really positive experience with was Lillette's in Baldwin. Consequently, it was the last place I visited b/c I bought my dress that day.
I wasn't thrilled with Macys in Manhasset, thought my experience wasn't awful either. I was not happy with the wedding salon of Manhasset and Lynbrook Bridal Center.

Re: Wedding gown stores
Village Bridal and Boutique in Babylon has Maggie Sottero and I will get my dress there, but i still have time so i will wait al ittle. The people are nice and a lot of my friends got their dresses at their store when they were known as Lidia's. Even though they changed their name people that work in that store are still the same.

Re: Wedding gown stores
My daughter, Beth, and I just went for her final fitting today at RK Bridals on 39th St in NYC. We can't say enough GREAT things about them!! Both my daughter and I got our gowns there; they both came in well ahead of schedule and it was a pleasure dealing with the alteration ladies. Beth originally wanted a Maggie Sotera dress but last Dec. RK had stopped carrying them- delays in getting the dresses for customers reflected on RK. She had brought pictures of gowns she liked and the staff brought her similar styles from other companies. It is the City though, but it worked out for us- Beth works there and I could meet her there for fittings. Well worth the trip!!

Re: Wedding gown stores
I had the BEST experience at Macy's by Demetrios in Smithhaven Mall. All the women there were so helpful and that's why I chose to purchase my gown from that store. I had been to the one in Manhasset and they were so rude to me there that I didn't even want to deal with them.
Any time I called the store in Smithaven Mall with a question or as many times I went up there to try on different jewelry with the sample, (which I did many times) they did not complain once and were always pleasant to me.
I highly recommend them!
