Wedding guest outfit for a European wedding?

Wedding guest outfit for a European wedding?

I am going to Ireland this summer for my DH's relative's wedding. Anyone ever been to a wedding in Europe? Are there any unwritten rules about guests not wearing certain colors or dresses of a certain length?

I was thinking of wearing either this dress (I could dress it up with nice jewelry and heels, and also a shawl/wrap) or a generic black cocktail dress.

I am confused and don't want to offend anyone there!

I am not helpful with this at all. But the dress you have there is nice.

Thanks. I haven't purchased it yet. It's on sale right now so I figured the May wedding would be a nice time to wear it... but I am not sure.
