Re: Wedding Insurance!

I heard of this and I actually thought about it, but then decided not to. Do you think it's necessary? How much does it cost?

Re: Wedding Insurance!

There is a website offered on theknot-- bigdayumbrella.com which offers rain and snow insurnace-- I am going to look into it. If it is legit then it might be worth it.

Re: Wedding Insurance!

really depends on how much you are spending and what type of coverage you get. Some people like to be protected

Re: Wedding Insurance!

I think wedding insurance is good if you have an eldery family member who's not doing too well, or a lot of out-of-town guests who would no-show if the weather turns ugly. Otherwise, I'm not sure what the point is.

Re: Wedding Insurance!

The point is that it could protect you of all the little things...like if your limos are late (so you ont have to threaten the drivers life) or if your flowers are all dead, or if the photgrapher/videographer ruins the film...then you can get your money back. If you actually research it you will see that it covers soo much more.

Re: Wedding Insurance!

Oh, I thought the insurance was just if you had to cancel the entire day - you wouldn't lose your deposits! I didn't realize it covered that much!

Thanks!!!

Re: Wedding Insurance!

My FI and I are looking into it. We are getting married in January 2004 so the weather is a big factor.

The insurance also covers lost/stolen gifts which some brides have reported that things have been stolen out of the bridal suite at reception halls.

In the grand scheme of things the amount you pay for coverage is pretty minute compared to other things we are paying and it always best to be covered and hope you don't have to use it! But if something does happen (and in my family somethings ALWAYS happens at EVERY WEDDING!) it is nice to know you have a little back up.

(And before someone says anything...No...I do not sell wedding insurance!)
