Wedding Insurance

With all this crazy weather and with having a winter wedding, my parents now, a month before the wedding, want to purchase wedding insurance. For those of you who have gotten it, who did you go through? How much as you paying? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Wedding Insurance

I'm getting married on NYE and am very concerned about the weather so I did purchase wedding insurance. I contacted my agent that does my homeowners insurance and got it through Travelers. The cost depends on how much you are spending on the wedding and the number of guests. There are a bunch of add on things-for example, we added alcohol liability since we are getting married on NYE and god forbid someone gets in an accident due to drunk driving-whether it is them or they get hit by someone else. It is an extra precaution. I've heard horror stories of bride's weddings who were canceled due to hurricanes/storms and still had to pay their vendors. I can't imagine how horrible that would be to cancel a wedding but at least insurance gives you a little more piece of mind.

Re: Wedding Insurance

this is my post from 10/30/12 that I posted in the 2013 & 2014 brides.

Ladies, If I can pass one website to you it is this one,

www.wedsafe.com

In light of what has happened this week, there will be venues that will not be open this weekend. Weddings will be postponed or cancelled. My heart goes out to those brides.

This can happen again. This is an insurance policy that can help cover the costs of these unfortunate events. It is priced by the total cost of your wedding.

I did take out this policy, thankfully, I did not have to use it. I also took out the liability policy. Total cost was under $500. Money well spent in my opinion. Take a few minutes read what is covered, you also might think it is worth it.

Happy Planning,
Dawn
