Re: wedding insurance

Hi, I used to live in Sussex for about 6 months. Well I am a new yorker originally. It is not a big deal in the states nobody really does it, but I am definitely planning to do some research and get it done.

Re: wedding insurance

Well my friend who lives in england had wedding insurance for her wedding. It tends to rain quite a bit in england. So people feel that they need the security of insurance, kinda like driving a car, you just never know what could happen.

Re: wedding insurance

It might not be big on these boards - but all the girls I know have gotten it.

No offense to anyone here but when you are spending thousands of dollars it seems stupid not to. You would really be without a wedding if your hall burned down or suddenly went out of business - while it might not be a good idea for the weather out here or for some other things it covers - the fact that it will cover your hall if anything happens is really worth it in itself.

Re: wedding insurance

I haven't gotten it yet, but I am planning on getting insurance, probably through wedsafe. (I'm all for anything that lessens my stress for the Big Day!)

Re: wedding insurance

It depends on how much you are paying for the wedding - I think it starts around 200 and goes to about 500$ - I guess when you think about it - for the thousands you are paying it is worth getting for the peace of mind (I know one of the clubs in my town had a fire and they had to do a tent b/c they couldn't afford to go elsewhere b.c their money was locked into that place. - Also you never know if your place goes bankrupt and then you are out of all the money unless you have the insurance to cover you)

Re: wedding insurance

We plan to look into it next year. I too am getting married in October.. late late October.. Im worried about weather mostly. Im past the hurricane season, but it never hurts. One good windstorm could knock that lovely oak tree straight through the Hall.

ETA: Mostly Im only worried about the Hall, everyone else is mobile. Photo/Video/DJ/flowers/Bridal Party. They don't care where it is, we just have to get there.
