Where do you put the envelopes that your guests give you on the day of the wedding? I have seen some boxes or satin money pouches but I think that looks cheesy and tacky to walk around with. Do you people just hand them to you and you have to make sure not to lose them? Also, the receiving line...is it at the church or reception hall? And do you have to do one?
Thanks!!

i just meant walking around with the bag...i'm not that clueless
You wouldn't walk around with the bag either. Either leave it on your and FH's table or leave it at your parents table and people will drop the cards in at their leisure or give them to you and you go drop them in the bag.
some ppl ive seen going around to tables with the satin bag in their hands

Re: Wedding money gifts
cardbox or bag it's the same thing IMO.
the bag used to be more common but I never saw anyone carrying it... it was usually just on the table and somewhat guarded by a family member. Now the boxes are more common.
I wanted to do a bird cage BADLY (fh's last name is Bird!!! ) but I got a cardbox at my shower so I might as well use it. I'm thinking we'll just put it on the dais.

ehh, I don't like that so much...it's like you're 'asking' for the gifts IMO...even though I know they're going to give them to me...I'd rather let them give it when they want to.

Re: Wedding money gifts
ill say that for my e-party i kept handing them to my mom, i had this small bag so she put them in there. But the thing is that if she wanted to go get up she couldn't just leave it there so she would have to go give it to someone else who we can trust, and this was the cycle lol. But i felt bad bc some ppl couldn't get up whenever they wanted to bc of this, they would have to wait for someone else to take care of the envelopes. So that is my reason for getting the cardbox. I dont want anyone to do that on my wedding day

Yeah it always made me rush to get it. Once FHhad the envelope and was at the bar so i had to run to go get it from him quick and make him rush back to be there when we give it lol. Not a huge deal but still

We;re not doing a cardbox. My parents and even FH think it's tacky so we're going to just carry one of the satin bags with us. That might even be my 'soemthing old' b/c I am hoping my grandmother can find the one that my mom or one of my aunts used for their weddings.
