Re: Wedding Month

Originally I wanted 10/10/10 but financially it wasn't possible. As well as my cousin was supposed to be getting married that september. But they cancelled their wedding. Then my sister wanted to renew her vows in september after the cancellation for her 5 year anniversary which was cool. So idecided on 7/10/11 bc it gives me enough time to raise money and doesn't interefere with anyone elses. :). And it'll be our 3 year anniversary.

As for your dilema I would talk to your brother first. Bc if weddings are too close people may show up to one and not the other.

I'm a grad student, so i have off for the whole month of January and plus I love the winter themed weddings..so it was a win win.

We picked our wedding date based on what the RH had available. We wanted to plan our wedding during DHs businesses slow time which is mid August until the end of September.

If you have siblings getting married next year you should try to plan your wedding a minimum of 6 moths apart especially if you have a lot of family that has to travel.

We picked our date because I really wanted a late spring/early summer wedding, but we got engaged in december of 09, and we have 11 weddings in 2010 total. I wanted august 2010 to do it sooner but still have time to plan but we have weddings scattered all around so I didn't want to be disrespectful to the brides that had their wedding booked for so long before I was even engaged. So we picked the earliest day in the yr we would want to get married and went for 2011

I believe there IS an unwritten rule that you dont do anything on top of family if you can avoid it... That being said my FBIL/FSIL decided that even tho we have been engaged and booked for months, they don't care and just got engaged and booked a wedding for a month after ours.. We are furious and it's creating A LOT of problems in the family.. They are selfish people to begin with so this wasnt that surprising.. I would try to avoid this at all costs.. With friends, its not as big of a deal... I would try to have it at least 2 months away from both family weddings if you could.. friends, it might just be a good idea to give them a heads up if you're planning around their date, but its so many different guests it shouldnt mattter much

Re: Wedding Month

i think it would be in very poor taste to plan your wedding so close to either your FSIL or your bro.
you may want to plan it for earlier in the year or later in the year, at least 2 or 3 months before or after each wedding.
its also a financial burden on the guests to have to shell out so much money for the same family so close together. especially if your inviting the same people.
