i think he should add him, and numbers dont matter or have to be even...
i have 2 MOH, 2 MBs, 1 jr BM, 2 FGS
and FH has, 1 BM, 4 GM, 1 jr GM
i think it will work out just fine

I will have the same thing as you...5 in my wedding party and 6 in his. It should be just fine. It doesn't need to be an even number.

5 and 6 is just fine, dont worry about such small details. I had an uneven bridal party it was 9 and 11 and it worked out just fine. Nobody said anything about it being uneven and didnt cause any problems and didnt look bad. Just go with whats best, friends and family matter more than a number

I agree. I would be hurt too. Matter of fact I would not ask his sister if he didn't ask my brother. Simple as that. I would talk about it with him and explain how important it is to you. I think you either include both of them in it or neither of them. Thats all. Also nothing wrong with having an uneven number of Groomsmen and Bridesmaids. If you are concerned about that then you can honor your brother by making him just an usher instead of a groomsmen. I think thats what I may be doing with my younger brother. He is 13 and a little too young to stand as a groomsmen but I may honor him by having him be an usher and help out, seat guests etc.

Good luck!!

P.S. Dont invite friends you are not that close with to have an even number.... its not worth it in the end.

I only think that it's fair that your brother be added. In my case, FH didn't have a choice. Neither did I. We both added our siblings into each other's BP.
My Brother and his Sister.

I would seriously condsider adding another BM (maybe a cousin or something) to even it out. I think that by asking him to exculde a friend will pose a bigger problem.

Try to work around it.

I agree when you say that you don't want to have girls that you're not close w/ you in your bridal party. I didn't ask my FI's sister because we're not close either. He was fine w/ that.

If you change your mind about asking his sister, you should change it because you only want to share that special moment w/ your special friends - not to 'get him back for not asking your brother.'

It sounds like he's okay to have your brother be a part of the wedding. So don't worry about the odd #s. No one finds that 'odd' anymore.

I would be really upset if my FH did not include my brother in the bridal party...My brother would be so hurt. I do not think it looks bad if there is one more guy then girl. One lucky girl could get to walk down the aisle with two guys!!
