Wedding Programs
Hey girls! I was just on the 'vendor' side and posted a question about programs. One has responded so far and is willing to give a free basket decorated with flowers & ribbon to anyone who books with them this month. I'm thinking about emailing them for an appointment. Has anyone ever heard of LA Productions?

Re: Wedding Programs
I just checked out the longisland.com website ad, the vendor Laproductions was there under wedding programs, and seems to offer a lot of stuff. I wish I could have seen the programs a little bigger. I think I'll be brave and daring and give it a go. I'm a sucker for free things: a decorated basket is one less thing I have to worry about! I'll keep everyone posted.

Hey I-Do-Soon! Let me know how it goes. Did you make an appointment? Is she coming to your house? Did it take a while for the appointment to be made?

Yes she's soming to my house!! I live in Sayville and Laura says has no problem coming out that way. She sounds really nice, I'm really excited about the whole thing. I've got a good feeling about it. She's coming tonight at 6:00pm, so as soon as she leaves I'll let everyone know!!!! She's bringing sample programs, a sample program basket and even offered to pick up donuts for my family!!

Re: Wedding Programs
My cousin used LA Productions for her wedding programs and they were beautiful. She recommended this vendor to me for my upcoming wedding - service was excellent and prices were reasonable. If you are going to hire someone to make wedding programs for you, this is the place. They also have a lot of unique stuff for weddings, bridal showers, engagement parties, etc. Hope this helps!

MY REVIEW--Wedding Programs
Hi girls!! I said I'd give you the feedback on the programs from LA Productions, so here it is... Laura came to my house directly and brought along a few samples. They were all INCREDIBLE!!!! They all had velum and ribbon, some even had dried flowers on them, one had pictures of the bride and groom as kids, another one of the couple (their engagement photo). Programs that were made for December actually had ornaments on them! They were seriously the most unique programs I'd ever seen before. And those were just the covers!! The inside of the programs she had graphics coresponding for everything: songs, prayers, etc... She has special pages set aside for the bride and groom to write each other a special note, a tribute page, future home of the newlyweds page, etc... I was so excited when I saw all this that before I discussed price with her I had to take a deep breath. But this is the best part... She is really reasonable. She said she's willing to work with my budget to give me what I want. And because I booked her I'm getting a FREE BASKET FOR MY PROGRAMS!!!! And it's not a cheesy basket either! She decorates it beautifully with flowers & ribbon. I hope this helps you guys! I would check her out if you are looking for someone to do this.

Re: Wedding Programs
Hey wedbabe! I thought you might be waiting to hear from me! For 100-programs with vellum, ribbon (my color choice) and a dried flower, plus 8-pages (16-in total typed), complete with graphics, pictures of me & my FH as kids, and full assembly $300. That breaks down to $3.00 a program!! I don't know if I could make them that cheap!!

Re: Wedding Programs
Doesn't this thread look a little too suspicious to anyone else? (hint, hint: vendor?)

It doesn't sound too off the wall to me. I plan on checking into it myself tomorrow. If anyone's interested I'll post on how it goes.

Re: Wedbabe
I was including you in the suspiciousness. Your little 'chit-chat' with seems a little too enthusiastic. It must be a coincidence that every time you and I-do-soon respond to each other you both are on the computer.

Re: Wedding Programs
Barbara, Thanks for your kind words and faith in the program. I don't feel like I owe you an explanation at all, but I have to say I'm annoyed. Perhaps you are the vendor looking to throw me and the other girls away from another client?! I would suggest in the future if you plan on being an active member on these chat pages, I would seriously hope to see your name posted more than the 2-times I've seen it. Who's looking suspicious now?!

Re: Wedding Programs
I'm the vendor??? And what have I been advertising? Sounds like someone is getting a little bit defensive. If you look closely I have been a member of this board since August of last year and have over 100 posts. In this time, I have seen one too many vendors act as if they are a bride who is 'soooo excited' they found this one vendor who does 'exceptionally beautiful work at such affordable prices'. But we have caught on. Sometimes it's just too blatantly obvious, such as your posts.

Re: Wedding Programs
Wed babe.When is your wedding??
Your profile says 05 but you posted the other day this 'I'm getting married ina few months from now and will definetely be having programs at my wedding. I disagree about 'skipping them' from your ceremony. I think having the programs makes the ceremony a little more unique. It's a nice touch for your guests. It gives them something to follow along with. The guests will know who is in your bridal party, what songs you chose, even who you wanted to thank for helping to make your day special. I also like that you can acknowledge your loved ones who passed away. That's very important to me because my grandfather just died and I was hoping he'd be here physically to watch me get married, but now I know I can honor him and still have him be included in my big day by including him in the program. It could also be used as a nice memento of your big day. God knows the day is going to fly by!! And besides, 10-years from now I think it'll be really nice to see in writing the names, readings, and other special things that helped make my day so special'

Re: Wedding Programs
NOt sure what is going on here. But $3 a program is pretty expensive. I consider my programs to be pretty elabaorate and they won't cost me 75 cents each.
I will add that programs are the SIMPLIEST item to make for your own wedding.
