wedding reception area

We are trying to decide on the wedding reception area and need help. We have narrowed it down to two. The Palm house at the brooklyn botanical garden and the Westbury Manor at Jericho TPK. There is a huge difference in price and wondered it anybody had any opinions. Thanks!

Westbury Manor

My sister got married at WM 2 yrs ago - overall, they were very happy. I think the price difference is because there are multiple functions at once, so it`s pretty much guaranteed you won`t be the only party there. If you don`t mind, then it`s definitely a great deal. The only other complaint I`ve heard (and it happened with my sister)is that they promise use of another room during the reception, and when the time comes to use the room, they find out it was given to someone else. You should also do a search on this board - a few others have posted about WM a few weeks ago.

Westbury Manor is great. It's scenic and the food is good. The only cause for concern I can think of is the size of the room. They do a wonderful job otherwise. If it's a summer/spring event then Westbury Manor is your place. I've never seen the place in Brooklyn. Westbury manor is also convienent from N.State Pkwy as well as the L.I.E. Good Luck!

Our wedding at Westbury Manor

I have never been to The Palm House but I just got married at Westbury manor and it was perfect. I am going to post all the details of our wedding when we get home from our honeymoon. Well I was very upset with WM a few weeks ago but everthing was fine for our wedding. I couldn't even believe how wonderful it was. The gardens were beautiful and everyone ranted and raved about the service and food. They have peakocks walking around and they were a big hit as well. The wedding really was beond my dreams the service was incredible I didn't have to do anything but have a good time. At the end of the night my feet hurt and I sat down to take my shoes off and my assistant was right at my feet taking them off for me she was at my side the whole night what ever we needed we just asked. I can't say enough about them they really made my day perfect. I was nervous about the reception but eeryone told me not to worry b/c WM does a good job but I have never been so happy with a decision as I am to have had it there. I know there were other parties ther but it was so smooth that I did not even notice. We had 250 people and a ten piece band and ther was plenty of space, I was nervous b/c people said it would be too tight but it wasn't. I've got to run i have a ship to catch but I will be back to post all the detail I just saw this post and couldn't resist to post somthing.
