wedding rice at outdoor ceremony

This is a really silly question but those of you that are getting married at your hall outside. When do the guests throw the rice at you if you don't walk out side becouse you're already outside??
I'm so confused

Maybe you can hand out the rice with the programs, and then when you come down the aisle as MR&MRS, they can throw it then.

dont use real rice, you could slip on it-r bird seed if you step on bird seed it crushes as where rice it might not crush-at least the birds get to eat

It's usually done as the bride and groom make their way back up the aisle as husband and wife. We were married outside, but our guests didn't throw anything; instead they rang bells.

I was at a wedding over the weekend where we threw rose petals as the bride and groom walked back up the isle after they were married. It was soooo pretty and I'm sure the pictures are going to look great

I know a lot of bides are doing bubbles or rose petals. They don't want rice or birdseed in their hair or down their dress. Plus, a lot of places charge to have the rice cleaned up. We are doing bubbles b/c my church charges for rice clean up and they don't want bird seed b/c they don't want bird poop all over the church steps and sidewalk. I would check with your place and see if they have any restrictions.
