It seems like it is wedding season over here in Chicago....at least in my circle of friends. We have a wedding June 1st, August 8th, ours is August 16th, one September 19th, and a destination wedding in January....
I don't want to be selfish, but we set our date first....and I feel like all of these weddings take away from ours because we all have some of the same guests invited, and with all of the showers, bparties and everything else this is going to cost us (and all of the guests) a lot of money!!!!!
Not to mention, the wedding that is the week before ours is at the same RH!
I just had to vent because I'm tired of hearing things like, 'oh why don't you guys just have a group wedding' or 'you can all save some money and go on a honeymoon at the same time' (even if they are being said sarcastically).
I don't want my wedding to be a competition...but I kinda feel like it is starting to become that way....

I'm sorry to hear that. Lucky for us we're the only wedding this year, but all of a sudden I have 4 close friends and relatives who will be very pregnant for the wedding. I'm already preparing myself to hear the call 'I don't think I'm going to make it your wedding my feet are swollen'

we have the same thing with us and our friends. a friend of FH is actually getting married the same day as us. i think we are just at that age. my friend once had a wedding every weekend for 4 months.
