FH and I are having an ongoing battle over our first dance ... The only song he came up with was 'I Swear', and I just can't do it - all I picture when I hear that song is Ryan Reynolds fat (from the movie 'Just Friends'. I will not be able to hold a straight face! Since I first heard the song 'All About Lovin' You', I've dreamed about this being my wedding song, years before FH came into the picture, but he refuses ... And neither of us are coming up with any other choices, lol ...

We're using Don Henley's 'Taking You Home' - I'm a HUGE Eagles fan and I palyed it for my FH he loved it too...the opening words describe us perfectly!

we used a really unconventional song and it worked so beautifully...we got SO many compliments and it will still come up 3 months later...SIL just mentioned it this weekend.
we did 'Part 1' by Band of Horses. We chose it because we listened to the album a lot when we first started dating....

We're doing 'Crazy Love' by Van Morrison... it didn't really mean anything to us but I LOVE them and played the song for FH and he liked it... it's kind of unconventional and very smooth... lol
I almost didn't want a song that we were too connected to, only b/c I am a crier and didn't want to be a blubbering mess

FH and I have been best friends since 7th grade so one day I heard the song 'My Best Friend' by Tim McGraw on the radio and just thought it was so perfect. I made the FH listen to it and he loved it too so it's always been our song and we always knew it would be our first dance at our wedding.
Do you have Itunes? Why don't you take the song you were thinking of and click on the Genius button (which finds similar songs) and see what it comes up with and if any strike a chord for you and your FH?

We just kept listening to songs...downloading them..keeping an ear out on the radio. DH actually heard this one on the radio, played it for me and we decided we liked it.
