FH and I are having an ongoing battle over our first dance ... The only song he came up with was 'I Swear', and I just can't do it - all I picture when I hear that song is Ryan Reynolds fat (from the movie 'Just Friends'. I will not be able to hold a straight face! Since I first heard the song 'All About Lovin' You', I've dreamed about this being my wedding song, years before FH came into the picture, but he refuses ... And neither of us are coming up with any other choices, lol ...
What song did you choose and how did you go about choosing it?
what do you think of this song for a wedding song.. i was considering it.. do you think it would be a good choice?

when i heard it for the first time i knew i wanted to use it for our wedding song...it took some serious convincing on FH's part though, but he finally gave in
This has been our song since we started dating and it's my ringtone on my phone when FH calls me for years.... but I feel like I always pictured dancing to a slower song for my wedding song.... I think we might dance to it later in the night though! GOOD CHOICE!!

LOL, Well, he is being silly about it ... but he boycotts Bon Jovi because of my 'obsession' ... He apparently thinks that I love Bon Jovi more than him ... So he claims to hate the song and tell me it doesn't fit us - I've never heard a better song for us!

I've thought about 'At Last', as well as 'By Your Side' ... nothing speaks to me like that one song that FH is refusing ... I think he just likes being difficult, haha!

could you compromise and see if the song you want can be the second song and the two of you pick out the first song together? I know a lot of people don't do a second song, but my DJ said people do a second song after dinner

I actually like that idea ... My banquet mgr suggested that we do the 'duet' salad/appetizer because it would give us 22 minutes of extra dance time ... that would make it easy to do a 2nd dance, and still have 17 extra dance minutes!

We (well, I) chose Taking You Home by Don HEnley. I really always loved the song and I played it for FH once way before we got engaged on a road trip and he mentioned he liked the song...a nd the lyrics are just perfect... so I suggested it for our song and he said ok.

We used Love Of A Lifetime by Firehouse. That has been our song since DH wrote in an e-mail to me when we first started dating- 'You are truely a Love of a Lifetime'

We both really like Stricken by No Doubt. But it's kind of a fast song, I wish we could find a slower acoustic version and it would be perfect. We're kind of stumped right now
