Anyone else have a bunch of songs that you considered for your wedding but decided it against because:
1- you found a better song 2- FH didnt like it 3- you didnt feel it was a 'wedding song' 4- someone you know used it
I have a bunch of songs, I liked/wanted but in the end we found a song we both love and thought was perfect for our wedding song.
The ones I liked that I think are sweet wedding songs:
'Here I Am'- Leona Lewis (FH didnt like) 'My Best Friend'- Tim McGraw (FH didnt like) 'Lucky'- Jason Mraz & Colbie Cailait (to me it wasn't a 'wedding song')

Chantal Kreviazuk is one of my favorite singers. But no one's heard of her, except for 'Feels Like Home'

I think it's a cute first dance song if you are a good dancer. It could set a nice tone.
We have narrowed it down to Songbird by Eva Cassidy (from Love Actually) or Grow Old With You from the Wedding Singer (we know it's cheesey and overdone but we think it's cute, and it's our wedding).

i didnt think it was first dancey either since it was a lil faster but since we are taking dance lessons i think we could do it

Re: Wedding song rejects
im gonna get crucified for this... i know... but there is a song by Ricky Martin...'she's all i ever had'
within the song there are some really cool words 'she's the air i breathe'... the basis of our tattoos (for the people that dont know, FW and i have matching tattoos on our wrists, saying 'Amore e l'aria che respiro', which means 'love is the air i breathe' in italian)
he goes on to sing 'it's the way she makes me feel, it's the only thing thats real, it's the way she understands, she's my lover she's my friend....'
the thing is... the song is about a guy who wants his ex-girlfriend back. so it's not correct for a wedding song. but further more... i would never want to say my wedding song is by Ricky Martin.
feel me?

Re: Wedding song rejects
I absolutely Love and have to have the song 'From this moment' it's actually the duet version by shania twain and bryan white. I know this song is so common but the duet is beautiful and it brings tears to my eyes everytime I listen to it. Plus I always wanted to have a duet.

Re: Wedding song rejects
I wanted Dig by Incubus but FH hates them so he said no right away
He wanted a Billy Joel song and I laughed at him
I made him listen to I will Be by Leona Lewis and he loved it - I was shocked - but that is our song
