I am looking to get married at Sans Souci - on that date I have to start the ceremony at 11:30. They are already booked for the evening wedding and I would miss the view if I have a night wedding...Most people are local so getting there is no big deal. What would you do?? I was thinking of a beautiful setting and having all the sunlight there esp. b/c it's on the water... Please help me out !

GO FOR IT! My ceremony is at 11:30am, Yeah i will be up at the crack of dawn, but you will have less time with wedding day nervousness..AND you have more time to party after the wedding. We are doing an after party to keep the fun moving into the night...

It's not too early...if people want to be there, they will.
My ceremony is at 11am!
We are having our reception on the water as well, and you are PAYING for that view, so it might as well be light out.
Good luck!
And yes...the party will continue into the night.

Mine is at 11:00, and I'm so not a morning person!
But we're having an after party when the reception ends, so we'll have an entire wedding DAY, not just a wedding 5-hour-reception!

Re: Wedding Times - is 11:30 too early?
I had an 11:30 am ceremony and it worked out fine!! I would say 80% of guests made it to the church and the majority of the guests were not local.
Don't worry about people who want to be there will be there.
Oh, I did put 11:15am on the invite though!

I'm also having a ceremony at 11:30! Go for it...you can then get together with your guests after the wedding is over...in a more casual setting. Maybe the bar at the hotel, or at someone's house and continue the party...that's what we plan to do.

our ceremony is at 10:30am!! yeah it's early but i wanted to make sure we had time to take pictures before the cocktail hour at 1pm. my brother's ceremony started at 10:45am and it was not a problem. noone ever said anything about it being early b/c they were all so excited. we are also having an after party at the hotel which will give us the whole day really to spend with our family and friends.

darly, ours is at 12 and it'll be awesome having sunshine (PLEASE!!!) at the ceremony and reception. it just means waking up a bit earlier to get ready but it is fine! people may appreciate it more not having to stay out so late and this way, people still have their evening to get ready for work the next day.

Re: Wedding Times - is 11:30 too early?
i totally agree - if i told you the beginning plans we had FH and I feel that at this time we have had so much grief from my FILs and I feel that we should have the party we want... I am thinking of a romantic and then later on maybe pay for a 'hospitality room' at the hotel and if friends would like to come and hang out great!
i am also afraid they will rush us out the door at s.souci b/c they have another wedding after our...
in my earlier posting stuff and stuff is s@x by the way

Re: Wedding Times - is 11:30 too early?
I spoke to my parents and they said to do what I want so - as long as they promise not to rush us out the door, it's set! After being engaged for 7 months we have a date and place!!
I figure that all the hair people will be happy to get to my house early & have the rest of the day free!!
Thanks so much everyone - without this site, I don't know where I would have started my planning!!

Getting people to do hair at 7-8 am wasn't a problem??? I don't think it would be...
