Wedding Times - is 11:30 too early?

Original post by darly

I am looking to get married at Sans Souci - on that date I have to start the ceremony at 11:30. They are already booked for the evening wedding and I would miss the view if I have a night wedding...Most people are local so getting there is no big deal.
What would you do??
I was thinking of a beautiful setting and having all the sunlight there esp. b/c it's on the water...
Please help me out !

Thanks so much!
It has been so stressful lately esp. since I cannot talk to his parents about this without cringing! We left the Sans Souci so relieved so hopefully when they open tomorrow I can ask a few questions and get them the deposit!

I am just concerned they will rush us out for the next wedding but I figure that this is their business and they know what they are doing...By the time the cake is cut and people start to leave, I won't notice that they are starting to change the linens!

I will keep updates on what I am doing just don't want to jinx myself yet! I am sick od being disappointed!!

Depends on the venue...if you don't want them changing the linens as your guests leave you must TELL THEM. I recently attended a wedding where that is exactly what happened. The guests were exiting and half the room was already cleared, it was pretty bad...

If it means that your guests need to be out 5 minutes earlier then so be it, just don't assume they will not herd them like cattle - I was kind of shocked that it happened that way... BTW this place where I went to a wedding also had a 'tip jar' - yuck.

My sis's wed started at 11:30. It wasn't bad EXCEPT she had one hairdresser doing 5 girls hairs and she was at the salon at 5:00 am. Just make sure you have enough time/people to get everyone done at a reasonable time.

We aren't having a 'bridal party' just my mom and sister - his side can take care of their own hair!!

I will def. ask about the linens and all that - and whether they rush you out - I will call them tomorrow and let them know about my concerns.

It will be an early day - but then we can go back to the hotel and look at each other and go 'omigod we're married!!' rest, and eat dinner and stuff and stuff and off to honeymoon!!

mine will be at that time too. We plan to continue partying at a room the hotel provides afterwards!

That's cool - yeah our friend works at Harrison Center and he can get us an extra room or hospitality suite - but it may just be that no one comes back b/c the families are not speaking to one another and I do not need the stress of the families just sitting there looking at one another!
Most of my friends have at least 1 kid so I don't know who would like to come back - it may be a quiet night for us looking at gifts and getting ready for married life!!
