wedding TY card writing question

Im starting to write my TY's and have a question...
all the things i read on the cash gift ty card
say to say how you'll use it...
'oh thank you for your geneous gift it will certainly help towards a car [stove,house etc]... i think thats odd..
if i got a ty card that said that id be like huh!?!
whats the real way to write it....

the sites say... for example...
Dear Terry and Vicky,

Todd and I wanted to thank you greatly for the check you sent for a wedding gift. We are saving to buy a new car, and your gift will help us reach our goal. We can’t wait to take you for a spin around the neighborhood.

I think pretty much all of the TYs I've received have been pretty basic...'Thank you so much for your generous gift and for sharing in our special day....etc.' I wouldn't worry about going into too much detail. HTH!

I agree, don't drive yourself crazy. I only wrote more detailed thank you messages to my immediate family and bridal party.

i just wish these 'how to' books were more like u ladies...

do people really write and mean all that detail stuff?
other then when you are writing to really close folks of course..
i dont think my grandmothers friend that i met jsut at my wedding really cares her $ is going to the house fund or my car payment hehe

I really like the wording of this one. In fact I am going to write it in my planner so I have it when it is my time to write thank you's.
