Wedding World Photographer/Videographer

I have so far priced out one photographer who i loved & is a house vendor and will be going to our other in house vendor photographer to meet soon to compaire photos and prices.

What I did a while back was go to wedding world because they were recommended by my boss and my boss' brother. I didn't like the photo album that they showed me at first but at the time i was just looking. The pictures i saw on the wall were okay but I never got to sit down with a photographer and see his/hers individual work and the videographer I just saw a five minute muppet thing. I figured to make a second appointment to go over it again but before then...

Anyone have thoughts about Wedding World in Commack? Did you use them? I tried to search the forum but really I didn't see anything about the photographers/videographers.

THank u.

I was so turned off by Wedding World. I thought that all of their samples looked like they were straight out of 1982. I also saw the Muppet video and FH and I thought that it was a joke. It was that bad.

I've had a couple of friends use them and they really weren't all that great. The DJ was absolutely awful! I really don't think that you get that great a deal especially for the sub-par services that they offer.

FM CindyandKevin. She used them for her wedding in June.

I used them for my June wedding and there are pros and cons to Wedding World, which I'll go over when I eventually post my review.

I was also turned off by their outdated sample pics and albums, but I tried to look past what was actually in the pics and look at the styles used. My cousin had used them for her 2004 wedding and didn't have any complaints. DH and I were on a very tight budget and with the $$ we had to work with and the package that they offered it sounded like a good deal. Everyone was great to work with, but you never actually meet with your actual photographer which bothered me greatly.

A few days before the wedding I spoke to him over the phone and we went over some things, I faxed him over my 'must take' list. The day of the wedding was wonderful, he was very easy to work with. We got our proofs back 2 weeks later. Unfortunately we were somewhat disappointed.

He only took about 300 shots, I was hoping for more. He missed some key shots, and only got about a third of our 'must takes'. Sometimes it makes me sad to look at other bride's pics now bc ours just don't have that 'wow' effect, there's no 'artistic flair' to them. At first I thought, well we don't need all that photojournalistic stuff, but now I wish we had it. In hindsight, if I could do it all over again I would've shopped around for a better photographer.

As for videography, we haven't seen our video yet so I can't really say anything. We have to give them some pics for the opening, and once we see it I'll include it in my review.

HTH!! Good luck with your search!!

Re: Wedding World Photographer/Videographer

I was turned off by wedding world because I thought they were fake. I went there because I had seen them at an expo and figured I should get some price ideas. During the first five minutes they pretended that they knew me when it was obvious that they didn't. Our convo went something like this:

Her: Nice to see you guys again. I remember the two of you from the expo.
Me: He didn't come to the expo
Her: Oh yeah, you were there with your mom. I forgot
Me: I went with my MOH
Her: Oh...well your hall is lovely
Me: We haven't picked one yet
Her: So, welcome to Wedding World...

They can't even give me personal attention when I'm a perspective client. I can't imagine how they'd be if they had my money and a contract.

OKay so my gut instinct is right. I mean i went there told her my fh's parents were deceased and i was having the wedding at clm but i didn't book yet and she kept asking about flower for fh's parents, parent albums and another catering all. that pissed me off but i didn't want to be negative.. figured to ask.

Thank you all for your honesty.
