So the FH and I have began looking at wedding bands. Does $9,000.00 sound about right for an 8-9 piece band for 5 hours plus a jazz ensemble at the cocktail hour?????

yeah depending ont he band. some bands can be $6000...some go up to like $25,000...which band is it?

We paid around $7000 for Code Bleu. FH has always been in bands, and his musician friends (and others) said this was the best band they have ever heard. They were SO good.

It's Central Park Orchestras - we absolutely loved them!!!
I have lots of good things about Code Bleu but they are booked on our day :(

It sounds pretty good. I have heard to expect $1,000 per musician so its reasonable.
I'm paying about $1,200 per musician.

Sounds about right from the bands I looked into. The Faze 4 band I booked (Sound Image) is around that price, for ceremony and CH music too. I think it's worth it if you really love the band.

The band we booked (Soul Revival ) was less than that, but from other bands that we originally looked at, it doesn't sound super expensive. Good luck!!

We hired Soul Revival too and paid less than $9000.
