Happy Hump Day ladies!!! The work week is *almost* over
today's QOTD stems from a conversation FH and I had last night.
'What is your 5 year plan after your wedding? House? Kids? Career change? Dish it ladies!
-After the wedding, we are hoping FH grandmother's house that we are selling is sold at the point, and we can move into a townhouse or apartment. We want to finish paying off our debt, and get our credit score a little higher before we buy a house. We want to move off the island within 5 years, and I'm hoping to open up my own home-based daycare center, and FH wants to go to technical school to become a certified electrician. We want to wait atleast a year or 2 before having kids although I wouldn't mind a HM baby .

hopefullly we will be buying our house in the next 8 months (my lease is up w my roomate and we are moving in together. where i have no effin clue)
I want kids within a few months of our marriage, we have been together forever, and I will be 30 in april. If we dont get crackin ill be oldddd (hahh jk)
FH wants to make LT in the next couple months, then up to capt, then chief, so I am hoping that while he does this I will be able to stay home with the babies and raise them
uiuuugggg five years seems so far away, but when you think about it, its not that long when you are spending the rest of your life with someone!

We are hoping to find an apartment to buy in the next few months, so probably not buying a housing within the next 5 years. Hopefully FH's firm (he is basically opening up a solo practice) will be up and running and doing well. I definitely want kids within the next 5 years (hopefully much shorter than 5!)

We are city people, so I am not sure if we will buy a house!
We will probably have 1 kiddie (or have tried for 1). FH only wants one, but I thik if you have 1, you might as well have 2!
We are moving to Manhattan next June, FH starts his new job, and I will (hopefully) be a licensed architect by then! I want to be working on exhibition design at a major museum, but we shall see.

After the wedding, we're getting a puppy!!!
Yea, that's where our priorities are!! LOL
We want to pay off all of our student loans. We plan on living in our house for a while so we're in no rush to move. We REALLY want to travel. And are planning our vacations for the next couple of years.
Kids aren't really in the cards for FH and I. We're not the 'Kid' people, but who knows? Things may change!

Five years after the wedding
* Major renovations on the house will be finished * We'll have at least one kid, probably 2 * I had told FH that I wanted to switch jobs after we got married but I recently got a new position so we'll see if that changes things.

After the wedding we plan to have a child right away and try to move out of our condo within 2 years and get into a house. I am very happy as an accountant so I will stay as that, although I will be a stay at home mom for a while

they actually asked this question in pre cana and thankgoodness FH and I had similar answers!
In 5 years we hope to have a house, 1-2 children, a chihuahua or any dog, a job that pays more $!!!! the last part is an extra, i guess i can survive w/o that

- We'll probably both still be on in the same industry/career, but hopefully in a higher position making more money lol - Hoping that we can have a baby or two during the 5 year plan. - Maybe moving into a bigger apartment, but for now we love the place we have and will probably be in it for 5+ years. - And the most important, making sure both FH and I continue to be happy and oh so in love with eachother

We will be looking for jobs in NC and moving hopefully before Christmas 2011! Rent an apartment for a year, then buy a house, hopefully while preggers! Get rid of my debt ASAP! I think moving out of LI will actually help that, less cost of living and hopefully my experience will get me a good salary out there. We will save buttloads due to the much lower rent! It will prob be about 1k cheaper than we pay right now. Figure out what I want to do beyond the bedside! I don't think I can be a bedside RN when I'm 50. I'll probably crumble. LOL. I always wanted a masters, but I don't know if I want NP, nurse educator, clinical nurse specialist or what!

FH and I had this conversation this weekend! Within 5 years:
I am PRAYING I am done with school and in practice
FH continues moving up the ladder in his job (he just got promoted to comptroller)
Living in the starter home I have already picked out (what are the chances it stays on the market for 18 months?)
PUPPY! FH promised me a puppy when I get done with school
and hopefully one baby, with the second on the way...but we shall see!

GREAT question!
I'm planning on starting a doctoral program in Fall 2011 which I hope to complete in 4-5 years. When I have finished that, I hope to be hired as a full-time tenure track faculty member.
After the wedding, FH and I plan to move into an apartment, but we're not keen on the idea of renting for too long (and not actually investing in something)....so either we'll be looking to get a condo or co-op after a year or two or by the grace of God possibly buy a house. And I guess the overall plan is to shovel away money over the next few years to save for a house!
We'll probably be looking to start a family right after I finish my doctorate.
Seeing it all typed out like that makes it seem so daunting!!

hmmmm....5 years from now: Be in school *I'm a freak and I LOVE school* have 1-2 children, a puppy, move to a great community for children (right now we live in a elderly town), and most importantly be happy :)

We have a baby maybe 2 That I finally sold my house and took my profit to re-do our kitchen (can't wait) FH has been promoted to Lieutenant (he's #8 on the list now ~fingers crossed~)

Hm, 5 year plan: owning a house (fh and I have been house hunting for a while now) maybe a baby (if God is willing!) If baby- hopefully stay home to raise it.....
