so we are not set in stone about our wedding date yet, so while talking with FH we decided to consider a september wedding. but he picked September 22, because its bilbo baggins for lord of the rings birthday & also the day his parents got married. but in 2010 is a wednesday. i feel its very inconvient & makes us look cheap. opinions please
I don't know. Midweek is rough. Think even Thurs is rough but know people have weddings that day. The people who want to be there will be there, but if you have any OOT it could be an issue for them. They'd have to take off of work etc etc. I'd ask around your family and get their reactions.
i agree with Amanda, i would ask family members ideas first and see what the reaction is and then decide, a mid week is a little harder

A few years from now everyday will be the new Saturday, if the date is of sentimental value to you and your FH then do it, those who know of the significance of the date will find it thoughtful and that alone will replace the Oh-gosh-it's -on- a-Wednesday sentiment! I mean if people could get married on a Friday or Thursday then what makes Wednesday any different. But I see how some people may find it inconvenient but still whoever wants to be there will.

i'm doing a Thursday. that's the only way i could get my place. do i feel cheap?? Absolutely NOT! I was just more concerned about people taking off of work and such BUT they have 2 years now to be able to.
If your date is significant, go with it! i think we all need to stop caring what other people think (myself included).
Plus i feel it's different..which to me s more memorable
everyone is bringing up great points. i also think that we may be able to get more for the same amount of money & may have a better wedding in the long run not have to stretch the money so thin.

the people that want to be there, will be there. I know a lot of my friends and family wouldnt have been able to make it for a thursday or friday wedding. But I know a few friends have gotten married on a thursday or friday with no problem. you need to do whats best for you and not worry about everyone else.

Someone is ALWAYS going to have something to say! In the end... it's your budget and your wedding. You have more than two years to plan and save. If you have a lot of OOT guests, they may appreciate the excuse to take a long weekend.
