Haven't even booked a venue yet and in throwing around dates to friends and family, we're already getting moans and groans about the church rehearsal being at 4 on the Thursday before a Friday night wedding. We'd love to do a Sat but can't afford it. Besides, evidently my church only has rehearsals on Thursdays! I do have out of town BMs and know it's annoying. I def get it, but what can I do? Is this unusual and way too much to ask?

I know it's a royal PIA. I am more puzzled and confused about it than anyone, believe me. I double checked with the church and they have some sort of support group (domestic violence? I forget) every Thursday at 6:30, but people arrive and start to set up at 5 or 5:30. Hence the 4pm rehearsal. Like I said, evidently they ONLY do rehearsals on Thursday at my church. So I guess that's totally weird. I truly didn't know.

It's not so weird that they do rehearsals one day only.
I had the same problem with my church. They would ONLY do Thursday BUT I could have gone through tons of legwork to get it on Friday (meeting with the priest, saying everyone was OOT, etc). So I just had it on Thursday and everyone had to arrange their schedule so they could make it.
When does your OOT BP plan on arriving for the wedding? The day of?
4:00 is early, but if it can't be changed, then it is what it is. ***** I know but that's sometimes the way things are.
We still had a rehearsal with a stinky person from church running it and we were like huh? what? Now what do we do??
So really for us, it was sort of half-a$$ed and kind of had little impact so to speak on the day of.
Like other girls posted, you can have whomever make it, and whomever doesn't you can explain after the fact.
