Weekend Getaways?

Weekend Getaways?

With both of us in new jobs, going on a vacation (as in more than a weekend) is not really in the cards for first year anniversary. Now, as it approaches, we decided want to go SOMEWHERE for the weekend. Unfortunately our first choice, Mohonk, it booked. Any ideas? Input? I would want anything more than a 2-3 hour drive since it's back to work on Monday....
Thanks in advance ladies!

My FH and I are going out to the North Fork this weekend. There are several great B&B's out there, some great restaurants and of course, the wineries.

We're the weekend getaway kings - we never can afford to go anywhere or take time off... but our hotspots are usually at least 3+ hours and we live in NJ so :(

My faves are:

Poconos
Cape May
Wildwood Crest
Berkshires
Mystic
Killington, VT is only a 4-5 hour ride

Good luck! I don't know much about B&Bs, I'm more of a hotel girl - I like the indoor pool and front desk and the little coffee pots in the room etc.

last year around this time i also felt the need to get away. we went to mystic, CT and took a day trip to foxwoods. i ended up winning $4000 so it was well worth it!

We like the Poconos; we rent a house with a jacuzzi and chill out for the weekend.

Here's a tip! If you ever want to rent a condo or house for the weekend. My girlfriends and I did this - this site is awesome...

My FH used it to rent a house for the bachelor party he hosted for his friend.

I'm not sure how the weather will be, but if its still nice, I loved Cape Cod when I went there. I did go in the summer though.
We stayed at two places, both in West Yarmouth
The Windjammer is accross the street from the beach
The Baysider is on the bay and has an indoor pool.
Both probably have crazy cheap rates now that its off season.
