Weight goals...

First here's a little 'Scale Humor'...

This can be kind of a motivational thread. Would anyone like to share their weight goals, concerns, etc.? I'd like to loose 14 lbs. I'm not setting a concrete time frame for myself because otherwise I tend to overdo things but I'm hoping to be at my goal by this summer. I think that's kind of reasonable.

Re: Weight goals...

I have gained weight since september but have not weighed myself bc i dont want to see how much i weigh now hahaha so i relate to the cartoon.

I def do want to lose weight...I have been eating very well, but i need to get more into the exercising...I used to do it ALL THE TIME, 4-6x a week but lately havent been able to do it..by the time i get home from work, eat dinner, finally get to relax, or most of the time get clothes ready and drive to fh's to sleep over.

I have to find a way though...I would like to get back down to 115-118, not less than that though, i want to lose weight but tone up alot too

Well what i USED to do lol...Basically eat very healthy, i didnt follow a specific diet, i decided it was better to eat healthy food that i dont mind eating bc otherwise it is hard to stick to a diet and if you do lose weight its hard to stay on it...I also did pilates about 4-6x a week, but they say you shouldn't do only one type of exercise over and over bc after a while you are not really working your muscles, you have to challenge your body so i would switch it up...Doing cardio, loved kickboxing too, and definitely incorporated weights.

I read this article a trainer wrote and he said, to give 6 days of yourself to a diet and 1 day you relax and can indulge in different food so this is what i did, on sundays i would eat something a little less healthy...I would go crazy at first hahahaha but after a while your body cant take in that much food and such heavy food after it gets used to eating healthy. Definitely dont skip meals...Your metabolism works the way a muscle does, the more you use it the better it works, you slow your metabolism by skipping meals, plus if you go more than 3 hours without eating your body goes into starvation mode and what it will do is store fat. I would also eat most of the fat in my daily diet early on, its better to eat bigger breakfasts, rather than big dinner which is what most people do...Its better bc this way you have all day to burn it off.

I had gained alot of weight a few years ago bc of birth control that i was on, so thats when i got strict and started doing all that and i had lost 30 pounds...I maintained it until september, i have put on some weight but not too crazy, i think alot of it had to do with me stopping my regular routine of lots of exercise, this is what happens when you suddenly stop.

Re: Weight goals...

I'm teaching dance 5 days a week and taking classes 1 day a week, so that's about 14 hours a week I work out. I make sure to do crunches and push-ups in all of the classes for their benefit...and of course mine! But I haven't really been watching what I'm eating though because I don't have free time anymore so I've been eating what's 'convenient' which is usually loaded with lots of salt-fat-calories. Plus alot of times after classes I'm famished (sp?) so I rummage through the cabinets and eat anything I can find lol.

I've gained a lot of weight since starting my job. I work overnights so at least 2 times a week I'm awake for a 24 hour period. Eating every three hours would be hard for me because I am usually busy at work and that would be a lot of food too!

I want to be 105 for the wedding but I want to wait to do it because if I do it anytime soon I definitely will not maintain it. Will Power and I were never friends.

I'm working tonight and I usually bring my dinner which is soup, lean cuisine or a lean pocket. Unfortunately they are filled with sodium and I feel it by the morning. I guess I could bring some cereal and fruit to snack on.

Oh i wish i had it on me, but i had this great article, i think its at fh's house that i used to look at all the time...It was 12 foods you should eat all the time...THere are some foods that help break down fat and different things like this, its good to do research.

Here are some things i used to eat and tips:

Tunafish-but with no mayo, i used green onions lemon and mustard

Oranges are a GREAT snack for in between meals, it fills you up and holds you over until your next meal

LOTS of grilled chicken lol, grilled chicken salad, grilled chicken with veggies, grilled chicken sandwich on whole wheat lol

I used to also make whole wheat pita with grilled chicken, peppers and red onions

-Egg whites, the eggwhite wraps are great

- i know i said tuna already but when i was out and would eat, i would always eat tuna melts and with soup, and it actually was great.

-turkey cutlets, turkey burgers

i also bought organic chicken coldcuts for sandwiches it was great.

Sometimes i would make whole wheat pasta with organic sauce-believe it or not the sauce was sooo delicious

-they say to eat lots of beans, its real good for you...Peanuts are a good snack too.

And sometimes when i craved something i would ONLY take like a bite out of it lol, if there was cake i would have one big bite lol

Infact that nutritionist from celebrity fit club wrote a book its called 'fat smash diet' he says to do things like that...Like have a grilled chicken salad and get half a plate of fries...EVERYONE says how great that book is and people lose alot of weight.

no you eat breakfast, small snack, lunch small snack dinner

It can be an apple, a few carrot sticks, orange, i used to eat the nutrigrain bars, yogurt, its NOT supposed to be a full meal, sorry i should say that bc they say if you dont do this right obviously youll end up gaining alot of weight.
