In regards to alcohol, my co-worker told me to try crystal light on the go packets and vodka - it saves the sugar of the mixers and you can get raspberry or peach or something.
good luck!
I used to do this all the time. People look at u like ur nuts but it works wonders!

Re: Weight Loss!
my best friend did p90x and she lost like 40 pounds before her wedding.
i've been sitting on the bike or treadmill for like 20-30 mins each morning before work. nothing on the weekends. eating very low fat. lost about 18 pounds, but that was over the course of 10 months. slowly but surely it's coming off. i have 12 more to go and 364 days till my wedding!
my mom's doing medifast now and it's crazy but i'll let you know if she loses a lot of weight.

Re: Weight Loss!
Honestly, as far as the diet part goes (though I hate using that evil 'D' word because it only gets you in the wrong mindset), the only thing that has always worked for me when I stuck with it was Weight Watchers. Since I started back up 3 weeks ago, I am 2 pounds away from losing 10 lbs and 1 lb away from my first mini goal I set for myself, which was to lose 5% of total body fat! I like WW because you are not restricted from eating anything - it essentially teaches you how to eat in moderation and to look more closely at what you are putting into your body. Yes, true, certain things you may have eaten before (like that bag of Doritos or that chocolate bar) may not easily fit into your daily points allowance but that makes you stop and think why are these food so many points? Is there a healthy option for me?
My big time snack thing is Ice Cream. Can't give it up - I refuse... sort of like my morning coffee. But, I searched around for a healthier alternative and found that I LOVE the Skiiny Cow ice cream and I bought those individual cups so I am getting the proper serving and I don't risk going for more than I should. As far as my coffee (which I always had with cream) I now substitued for Fat Free Half & Half, and you know what - it's just as good and one serving of FF H&H is 0 points! So I don't even have to count points for my morning cup of coffee anymore!
But you do need to exercise as well to keep your metobolism going, even if it's only 20 minutes a day - do what you can. If you just diet and don't exercise, you'll find that you will lose weight rapidly in the beginning and then hit a plateau very quickly. You need to keep your metabolism up to help burn the calories that you take in and the help burn the fat.

Re: Weight Loss!
OMG...an old friend did Medifast and lost a TON of weight. I tried it and was such a grouch!!
If she can stick with it it does work!! I'm a believer in the old 'diet and exercise'!

Re: Weight Loss!
I would suggest always picking a simple drink...vodka diet or a light beer. Alcohol dehydrates you...so if you drink a glass of water between each drink and drink a ton of water when you come home after a night of drinking. Drinking water helps to push the alcohol out of your system and leaving you with less bloating.

I always loved Nutrisystem. The only thing that really works for me is portion control.
What I've been doing is the following:
Breakfast 1 cup of Kashi Go Lean Cereal 1/2 cup fat free milk
Lunch Whole wheat bagel thin WW cream cheese (in the individual packs) Green Giant Just For One vege pack
Yogurt for snack
Dinner To mimic Nutrisystem I've been having a Healthy Choice or LC, something like that. Lower sodium options. Adding a little steamed broccoli or having an apple with it for more food.
I probably don't eat enough. But this is the only thing that is working so far.
i used to be on NS - loved it!

Re: Weight Loss!
as far as drinks are concerned... when i was dieting i used to drink gray goose and club soda... with a splash of cranberry for taste. in a pint glass... i woudl drink it slower.
also try bud select 55... its not too horrible. lol
i found that since i normally drink beer i would drink abotu the same amt as FH... but with those pints of grey goose n club i drink a lot less - i have have one pint for his 3 beers. (but i do pace myself, and it does help if teh bartender hooks you up and makes it strong...haha)

Re: Weight Loss!
I count calories and fat, and work out 3-4x/week. Last time i did this i lost 20lb in 4 months. Its hard and tedious but works!
take your weight in kg (pounds divided by 2.2) and times that by 20. stay between 100 cal over/under that number and you'll lose weight. I try to stick to less than 25g fat/day
add cardio and some weight training and you'll lose even faster. Just started last week and lost 5lbs. already
sites like calorieking .com will help you figure calories of foods HTH FM me if you have any questions

Re: Weight Loss!
I'm right there with you!!! Although I've been slacking, I usually run for 30 min then do arms/abs for 30 min at home. But since time is just not on my side lately, I've been too lazy or tired to do anything! I was eating really healthy and working out for 2 weeks straight, and I lost 8 lbs! Def a good start!

Re: Weight Loss!
I go back and forth with weigth. I used to be an athlete in hs and college so my body has the muscle memory, and MOST of the time i do eat really healthy, but it has to be a consistant healthy. every once in a while is good but going out every wkdn is not good. and watch your daily calories, especially with drinks and coffee w milk and sugar.
