Re: WEIGHT LOSS QUESTION

i've just been making an effort to hit the gym regularly. I do lots of cardio & take yoga 1-2x week. I'm really just trying to stay the same size- maybe lose 5 lbs at the most. My bridal salon gave me a lecture about not gaining any weight before the wedding as I was between sizes & we went for the smaller one!

Re: WEIGHT LOSS QUESTION

My secret is I never cut out the carbs, only white flour that turns into sugar.

Breakfast--wheat crackers and apple
Lunch--whole wheat bread with light spread cheese
Dinner--Wild rice and grilled chicken with a green leaf salad and balsamic vinegar dressing.

Yummy, and I still dropped this weight in less than 6 weeks

Re: WEIGHT LOSS QUESTION

Granted I'm not following anything at the moment, but when I do, I follow the old WW.

I think there is no secret. You just need to figure out what your body likes. What may work for one person may not work for another person. Also eating too little food is detrimenal to your system. My sister found this out this past week that by eating more she still managed to lose a pound.

I really need to get back on plan in order to lose 20lbs by March.

Re: WEIGHT LOSS QUESTION

I know I'm crashing but I figured that I'd share... I'd been gaining weight consistently for the past 4 years and FINALLY lost 16 pounds since the end of September. Woohoo!

Here's what I've been doing:

1: I had a Buns of Steel tape from the '90s that I found so I've been doing that (35 mins of cardio) 3-4x each week.

2: I totally stopped drinking juice and soda Drastic, yes, but it seems to have helped. I only drink Aquafina and Dasani (about 60oz each day)

3: Though I still eat carbs (I'm obsessed with jasmine rice so I couldn't cut that), I eat less during the day. So I have like... a bowl of cereal for breakfast then a really small lunch.... something really light like a bowl of grapes, or an english muffin, or light sandwich. I eat the usual rice or pasta with meat for dinner but I substitute some of the rice for my fav veggies. I love veggies so sometimes I skip the rice all together.

4: I don't know if it makes any difference at all but I do about 100 crunches each night before I go to bed. I'm determined to get rid of the extra lbs!!!

You can do it! Figure out what will work for you and stick to it

Good luck, and I HTH!

Re: WEIGHT LOSS QUESTION

I must say, I am not dieting now but in the past, I did Weight Watchers. I beleive for myself, that is the only true diet. It is a way of eating and a way of life, not a diet. That is what they teach you there.

My inspiration story for you, my gf lost 115 pounds on Weight Watchers about 10 years ago. I know it works. Granted, she did not keep it off but that is b/c she went back to her old eating habits.

Good luck with whichever diet you decide.

Re: WEIGHT LOSS QUESTION

weight watchers is just a more simple way of doing a calorie count. if you cant afford weight watchers theres a program you can down load to your computer from www.fitday.com its like $20 that can help you establish how many calories you should be taking is for your height weight and weight l;oss goal..ww does this by putting your calories into their point system...anyways it also helps you to track what you take in and what you use during your day....its pretty good program my parents have done it in the past and lost more than 20lbs and i've kinda half a$$ed it and lost like 5 lbsin about a week and a half its just about makming smarted food choices to get what you need in the day...also smaller frequent meals so you stay fueled and full...

I lost 10 lbs on weight watchers this past year. I haven't been sticking to it crazy but I base what I eat on that still.

I take dance class 1-2 x a week, Plus I try to do the Winsor Pilate Videos every morning.
It really leans you out. And gets the stomach in great shape!
-all I can think about is lookin good on the honeymoon too!

totally cut out juices and sodas!!! And switch from white flours to whole wheat!

Re: WEIGHT LOSS QUESTION

I started doing the fat smash plan and I work out five times a week for at least 45min. but i try to do 1hr. Weight is coming off slowly, but a lot of people are noticing. I completely cut out all white foods and replaced them with wheat. This includes pasta, bread, rice and even pancake mix. No more potatoes, and fries only once in a while. Also eating tons of fruit and eat four - five meals a day.
