Ok, ever since I have signed up for LIW I have been getting alot of mail, and e-mail from vendors,, but I expected that...but tonight I just got a phone call from a florist...now I haven't even looked at florists yet, and how they got my number is beyond me!!! Mail is fine, but phone calls from places I never looked into, come on!!

i got that too... it wasnt from LIW though,,, i think they got it from my hall, b/c they said that they came 'highly recommended from WM'... and that was B4 i even joined liw

That happened to me when I first joined LIW....and still does. I swear- Flowers by B**** must've called me like 500 times. You think they would have gotten the hint when I never returned their phone calls!

I dont know if you attended any Bridal Showcases but that is how alot of vendors get 'leads'

When I signed up I used an e-mail address that I don't use so I don't have to worry about all of the spam, and for the telephone calls, I gave my vendors my parents number, so if my reception hall gave it out, they wouldn't have my number here in VA...its weird...Vendors from LI calling me in VA!!! How do they know I am getting married in NY??

I love the calls that don't leave messages. I send you to my voicemail for a reason!!! Don't keep calling me!!!

Yeah I know the calls are annoying. I've only gotten the ones by my house vendors and from the Great Bridal Expo. I've had my vendors booked for months now. I wish they'd just stop.

Oh, how I do not miss those days! My calls also came from my hall. You are forced to be rude most times to them. If you have caller ID, don't answer. If they become too persistant, they're probably vendors you wouldn't want to deal with after you feel harrassed by them

I think they're from the halls...also any contests or expos...or a backwards phone directory when we sign up fror bride magazine, etc.
some of the calls say i am the recommended florist of North Ritz..so I figure the # came from NRC

I haven't attended any expos or anything. All of these calls and emails started after I joined LIW. I just say no thanks and hang up. But sometimes it does get annoying.

This is why I absolutely never give out my home phone number. I've only given my cell phone to my vendors and even then it's turned off most of the time. there is a certain dj company (house vendor at my hall)... if I had a dime for every time they left me a message I'd have at least $5.

My pet peeve is when a vendor calls you that you haven't called and leaves a message. I don't call them back then they call back, annoyed that you didn't call back. Ummmm, I never called you to begin with, why would I call you back when I have my vendors booked?????

I totally agree with that. It makes me really uncomfortable when vendors ask that, as if I need to justify my choice. My fiance actually has responded with the answer, 'Not you.' after we wre barraged by a certain DJ service
