I actually had to call up a photographer and ask him to stop sending me mail, I was getting fliers once a week from them!!

I haven't gotten any phone calls from 'house' vendors--only mail, which is fine. The only phone calls I've gotten have been through LIW and a bridal expo. Whenever I get the sales calls, I just respond that I already have my ____ booked (which is true). If they ask 'Who' I answer. I really don't see it as a big deal.

I got that once too. Was way too weird because it was my cell number they had! I never give that out. They said they must have gotten it from a forum I joined but I never used my phone number when signing up for a forum! Just odd and creapy!

Katie...I get tons of mail and phone calls from NY, VA, MD, and DC vendors (and my parents in NY do so as well). I know I must be on tons of lists from the different websites, bridal shows, etc....I just don't answer the numbers that I don't recognize but it is annoying!

I got a call from Windows on the Lake last week...I never looked there or even considered looking there...I booked my hall over 3 months ago and how they got my number really bothers me!!

I got a lot of junk mail shortly after attending the Bridal Expos. I know that my hall gave my info to their house vendors. The photographers called quite often, even after i told them I booked someone else. I think they have finally gotten the message. Now I get a lot of spam email, and just check the 'mark as spam' box in yahoo.

Not only do I get calls and junk mail from NY, I also get junk mail from vendors here in CA. Hello- I am not getting married here! Its so annoying. As soon as you register, you will start getting all sorts of junk again!

That happened to me when I first joined LIW....and still does. I swear- Flowers by B**** must've called me like 500 times. You think they would have gotten the hint when I never returned their phone calls!
I agree. Flowers by B**** called me in the middle of Valentine's day dinner. There are other vendors equally as annoying, but thanks to caller id, they don't waste too much of my time!!

I put fake phone numbers on every form I use on the internet - and I have a legit email that I use just for junk mail. I go on it once a week and delete everything.
LIW should not give your phone number out to vendors - I think that is lame.
