FH and I are getting married in a Catholic church. Someone was recently telling me that it is etiquette to invite the priest who marries you to your reception. I think I might have heard this once before but I'm not sure how true it is. Any input? Are any of you girls planning on doing this?

I have heard this too. My brother did that, his priest came from Hoboken to marry my bro & SIL in Jersey....not sure if he stayed for the reception but I know he was invited. My bro was good friends w/him so thats why he was invited. I really dont plan on inviting mine.....I'm already giving them on heck of a 'donation' & following all of their rules.... Who doesn't allow ROSE PETALS in a church I mean I understand if I was having my ppl spray silly sting but come on!!!!!!

Re: Weird Question (sort of)...
we are not inviting our priest but when we asked fh's mom and step dad for their guest list they insisted that their priest (who is not marrying us and who we have never met) be included!
