Well..I went to Elsa's today...

Well..I went to Elsa's today...

thinking I could accomplish something...and nothing got done.

We sat down with a man and he told us that basically, he'll give us exactly what we want and will devote an hour of time to us, after that hour, we must decide to buy our rings otherwise - thank you and have a nice day. I understand that they aren't a retail store - their more of a specialty shop.
It just annoyed me that this couldn't have been told to me before I trekked out there and wasted gas.
So I left and said I'd look around more and would come back if I couldn't find anything that looked right. So ladies...nothing accomplished today :(

That's annoying. Did you notice if they have other jewelry there (like earrings, etc.)? I won a gift certificate from there, but I don't think we're going to use them for our rings, but I really need (I guess I should say want) a new pair of earrings.

I didn't like my experience there at all. I can't tell you how many jewelers I went to. I knew exactly what I wanted and they kept telling me how I'd have to come back four times and they were DOUBLE THE PRICE of the second less expensive quote . I found another jeweler through a friend's recommendation, it was custom made for me and I met with him twice... once to discuss it with him and once to pick it up.

Yeah, the same thing happened to us when we went there. It was such a waste of time and they were not helpful to us at all. We ended up finding what we like elsewhere. Good luck ring shopping!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with them. My husband designed my engagement ring with them and I just loved the fact that he was involved in the designing process and didn't just see a ring at a store and buy it. I love my ring so much. Also the appraisal value was almost $3,000 higher than what he spent. I think their prices are very reasonable.

My wedding band is also designed to fit my engagement ring. The process is long and you have to go back and forth a few times. But it is definately worth it. JMHO.

I'm so sorry -- I forgot to mention that about Elsa's. The way I guess it works is that you go there, sit with the design person and if you like what they show you, you put down a deposit and they start working on it. You can't say 'we'll have to think about it' or go to another place to see if they can do something similar. I hate that kind of sales-pressure atmosphere but the design they showed me was exactly what I wanted so I decided to go for it
