Went Dress shopping today(with pics!)...neeeeed advice

Ok Girlies...I went to paradise bridal today, on a whim- a designer sent a sample there for me to try on that i had been unable to find so I felt obligated go- even tho i told myself id hold off on shopping for a few more months

I ended up not loving the dress but finding one that i absolutely loved!!!

Here are my dilemnas!!
#1. I feel like my wedding is too far away and Im afraid of committing so soon-(FH & I are thinking april/may of next year, going to book next week)

#2. The whole time Ive been shopping, all I looked at were mermaid, trumpet style dresses and this one is totalllly opposite, but it's beautiful and I love it! So I'm worried since it's totally opposite- but maybe thats why i never found 'THE ONE' i dunno

#3 my family is so difficult and they just didn't give me that warm feeling when i showed them pics- mom included- i took my aunt with me and she loved it in the store

I think they're all beautiful but I personally prefer the first one--it looks stunning on you!

thank you so much ladies...you're making me feel better! since my family has made me feel nothing but guilty! they keep telling me i should be wearing a mermaid

thank you sooooo much highstylin!!! i was literally going to every designers website that paradise carries to try and find it! i only got through 3 of them lol!

and the other part i forgot to tell you all is that FH HATESSS mermaid dresses- i showed him a pic of the mermaid one in this post and he was like 'omg no horrible' he loves the ball gown look- so that is a plus!

I love number two and I am having the same problem.. I can make up my mid If I want mermaid or ball gown that's why I haven't picked out my dress .. I feel like if you have the body for mermaid you should absolutely go for it, but I also feel like your wedding is the only day you will get to wear the big ball gown so its a hard decision to make.I wish there was a way to get the best of both worlds

I actually typically hate mermaid/trumpet style dresses... but I think the first dress looks amazing on you!! REally, it's beautiful!

I lke the second dress, too, it's very pretty... but honestly, I think you look FANTASTIC in the first dress.

because they want you to be FORCED to go back to them for the dress...if u dont know who makes it, you cant find it somewhere else!

The second dress is BREATH-TAKING on you!!! I like the first, but love the second one! I could have sworn I saw something similar while browsing on the computer. I'll try to see if I come across it tomorrow...I almost want to say that I could have seen this style on the knot.com..

Wow!!! Both are gorgeous, but I loooooooooooooooove the first one. It's so differet.

A little tip I picked up from Paradise Bridal- look on the ribbon that hangs the train up on the hanger so it doesn't drag on the floor. A lot of times the designer's name is printed on there.

As for ordering, if you're not sure, don't order yet. Personally, I didn't get the whole warm fuzzy feeling of 'Oh my God this is the one and if I don't get it, I'm going to cry!' (and my mom also didn't really like it either. Or at least liked others better than it!) But I did feel beautiful and bridely and I kept comparing other dresses to it and that's how I knew. But even after I found 'the one', I still went shopping twice after to make sure. IMO, It's too much money to throw away!

i haven't been dress shopping yet, so I can't really help you with your dilemma of whether or not you should order the dress, but I must say that the ballgown is gorgeous on you! I also love the top of the mermaid on you too! Maybe if your family sees you in the dress in person, they'll love it as much as you and your aunt do. I'd prob take them to the store for their in-person opinion. Good luck with your decision!
