The first one I LOVE and it would be the color in the picture....the sample was too tight on her, so she would obviously need a bigger size.
The second one is gorgeous also, but I really don't want my mom in brown. The only other colors it comes in are navy, burgundy, and olive. Burgundy is out because my girls are wearing dark red. Olive is out because FMIL wants to wear green. I don't know how I feel about my mom in Navy either
I like the second one a lot, Laura. It's very flattering on her.

The 2nd dress is SO flattering on her. And her coloring looks GORGEOUS in brown. Of course chocolate brown is my favorite color, so I am biased.
#1 has a bit too much going on IMO, and I think the skirt would get super wrinkly. The color is lovely though.

I think the second dress looks GREAT on her and I love the brown color with her complexion!!! Why do you not want her in brown?? It goes so well on her!

I'm not sure they'll look ok together. Also, I kind of wanted her in something lighter, I just feel the brown is sooooo dark.

I had a brown and red dress in high school that was actually very pretty. I don't think it would clash, personally.

They are both very pretty!! I was going to say that Olive would be beautiful....but then I saw that your FMIL wants to wear green......but isn't the rule that the Brides mom gets to pick 1st lol, sorry just had a slight bridezilla moment there.

FMIL politely asked, months ago. She asked if my mother knew what color she wanted to wear, because she found a dress and a color she loved. She said she'd change it though if my mom wanted to wear green, because she knows MOB is supposed to pick first. I spoke with my mom about it, and she said not to tell her to switch, that she would find something else, so I told FMIL she could wear it.

Ahhh. Well, I think she'd look just lovely in the brown one then :)
My mom is currently having a fit that FMIL picked first but my wedding is three weeks from today and she still has no picked a dress and you can't expect someone to wait that long.
