Went to a wedding today-only me!! (plus pics)-LONG

My FH and I went to a wedding today, in Jersey. A gorgeous place called the Crystal Palace.
FH's good friend is Jewish (we aren't) and asked FH to hold the huppah (sp?).
So......the ceremony was outside and as I and FH's friend & his date were walking to be seated for the ceremony, my long gown, which zippers from under my arm to my waist, SPLITS!!!!!! My zipper totally broke! Now if you meet me, you will see I am not fat, far from it, I am totally skinny.
WTF???? I will never again buy a dress from a well know place (Oh So D*****)!!!!!! I just bought this dress brand new yesterday and here I am sitting there for the ceremony holding my dress closed while trying to take pics of FH in the ceremony. Now, even if I wanted to get up to walk to try to fix my dress, I couldn't!!!!! Everyone was there! It was bad enough a few people saw me and my fu*&^% up dress! I was mortified!!! Also, I had NO bra on (couldn't wear one with this dress), no imagine the ENTIRE SIDE of your dress open from underarm to hip!!
FH had to give me his tux jacket after the ceremony. Thank God one of the maitred's (sp?) was nice enought to take me into a room and help me pin up the whole side of my gown with safety pins . Thank God she did a good job in fixing it but just WAIT till this store sees me tomorrow!!! I want a full refund, no credit or exchange, i'd be so afraid to ever wear a dress from there again!

Now heres a few pics of some cool things from the wedding.
First this is an ice sculpture of a vodka bottle. If you notice on the upper right side of the sculpture there is an orangy funnel. The waiter pours vodka through and you hold your shot glass at the spout, (on the lower left side) and the vodka comes out into your glass! so cool!

the pics dont look as good because we have to make them less than 50k (hint-lol), but besides the dress the wedding was beautiful. only me!

So sorry to hear about your dress! That's pretty crazy and traumatic! It sounds like you handled it pretty well though... I don't know what I would have done!

Wowzas Jenn! Talk about a grand entrance, you poor thing, thank God for the maitre 'd and the safety pins!! Thanks for the pics too. The ice sculpture is pretty cool...brrr! (lol-lame joke, I know but I just had to!! )

Hi Jen! I'm so sorry to hear about your dress!!! But I have to tell ya, that you had me PIMP!!!!!!! (I got that one from Michelle) And if it's any consolation to you, a similar thing happened to me at a wedding years ago -- I bent down, but instead of bending at the kness and being ladylike, I bent over like a truck driver and the slit of my skirt (2 piece outfit, totally 90's LOL) SPLIT ALL THE WAY UP!!! I was holding it together behind me and TOTALLY mortifed! Thank God my parents were there (this is back in my single days and never having a date for any of these weddings I had every weekend) so that I could take my father's jacket and walk to the bathroom. And on the way there, of course, I run into this guy I went to HS with and was even more mortifed because there I am holding the back of my dress and walking like an idiot!!! I just ran in the bathroom and when I came out, he was gone! Oh well!!

Anyway, DEFINITELY go back and give them a piece of your mind and make sure you get your money back!!

Update:

I call from work this morning and they said 'We don't give refunds'.
Well if anyone knows me, I am one who is an awesome complainer/letter writer/talker. If the airlines screw up, I get free flights/vouchers etc...

I told them if I don't get a refund, I will call the BBB and my attorney will be speaking to them. I told them I'd be in at 5:30.
Well, what do you know, when I walked in, I was offered a full refund

GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! I think I'll be having you call up the furniture place if they give me a hard time about replacing my china closet!!!!! I'm glad you got your money back!!!!
