the church was at 1pm and the reception ended at 2 am! The food was set up like a high school lunch buffet and I literally saw people in hair nets and plastic gloves cleaning off our tables, the DJ announced on a number of occasions 'raise your hand if you haven't got cake/salad/ etc' oh and the outside looked like a barn and the inside was a catering hall? haha basically it was exacctttly like a long island wedding.
On a different note who was it who said FH was talking about wedding dresses and wanted a tail? I couldn't see the bride at the church and asked FH what her dress looked like he said 'its poofy with a long tail' hahaha

I went to a wedding upstate (waaaay upstate, Fort Ticonderoga - any chance that's where you were?) and it was exactly how you described! Even worse, it was POURING rain that day (POURRRRRRRING), and the 'hall' roof started leaking majorly, like pouring into the space!

Was it by any chance Plattsburgh? I went to college up there and that definetely sounds like a Plattsburgh wedding.

Wow, yeah. We are in one of the big over the top wedding areas. There are others but basically any town away from a metro city it's not big whole deal unless you're $$$$$$.

It's pretty amazing how just 50 miles in almost any direction, prices per head can drop like $40, 50, 60, etc! NYC is such a ripppp.

Re: went to a wedding upstate
hahahaha I think the tail comment is hysterical. I have to remember to ask FH what he thinks it is called.
