Compared to other quotes I've seen, I think they gave me a pretty fair quote, the problem is I still just can't afford it. I originally budgeted $800 for flowers, I have NO idea what I was thinking...she gave me seperate pricing for CPs, my bo-k and the bridesmaids..when I added up about how much everything was going to be it was somewhere around $2200 I think..there's NO way thats happening... I really hope her quote was outrageous or something, because at this rate I don't know what I'm going to do..
On the way home my mom and I stopped at AC Moore to see how much it would be to do it with silk flowers, which I originally wanted to do...but thats expensive too..
AHHH!

I had similar problem, what you could do is go to flower direct warehouse, and its this huge room of flowers you pick the flowers you want for warehouse price which is next to nothing. the only thing is you would just arrange them yourself, have your bridesmaids help you. Get a pic of something you like and replicate it. Cheap & Easy but will look like a pro did it.

i second the suggestions about burton's and costco if you're willing to be hands-on and flexible with the flowers. one way to cut costs dramatically is to get creative with your CPs. consider hurricane vases with candles & petals, bowls of floating flowers, or arrangements with more greenery and cheaper flowers.
something small and simple like this with an affordable flower like roses might be a good DIY option

if you dont have the money to do it.. do not stress your pocket for somethign that you will never see again. its 6 hours, its not like pictures that last a lifetime. I think flowers are beautiful but the past 3 weddings i have been to all had candle centerpices and i like them soooo much more. it brings a beautiful glow to the room, it makes more room for all the yummy food and there is no distraction when taking pictures from across the table.
I am doing candle centerpices with frames filled with picture collages of every guest at the wedding.

Go in and tell them the price you want to spend. Like PP said you can always do candles. Maybe they can do a small bouquet of flowers, and you can put votives around. That would look pretty too

I agree. Tell them your budget and they'll tell you what they can do within that budget. That quote wasn't off the wall, but it helps if you give them an idea of what you want to spend so they focus on the stuff that fits. You will find someone!!! I am using Burton's and I think they will work with you if you tell them that's all you can spend. But, I will suspect that their quote, if you don't give them guidance, will be more than your budget but less than Designs by Rose . . . .
