With regards to BM dresses, was it solely your deicison as to which dress BMs would wear? Did you ask for input? and if so, did you take?
Just curious as I have picked colors, which everyone seems to like, but not a dress yet.

Re: Were BM dresses your decision only?
Actually I had such an amazing experience with my girls. I pretty much let them pick out the material, the dress. All I picked out was the color. I gave them about 10 different dresses for them to all try on and we'd compare and pick which one they would all feel most comfortable in, which left up to them. Then they all ended up picking the same dress and I had them all try it on just to be sure. I actually wouldn't have minded if they each picked a different style as long as it was the same material and designer, but they loved that one dress. My friend had the same experience and we all picked the same dress.
It's really up to you though. You could just go with the colors and ask the sales ladies, if you could see swatches in these colors, so you can decide what designer you want to go with, sometimes the colors can vary between designer and materials. I think that could be a great start.
Good luck. I had so much fun with my girls and I have 7 girls in my BP and the FG. She loved going and trying on dresses.

Re: Were BM dresses your decision only?
We;re not a hundred percent on a dress yet - I have listened to input from my girls... 'maybe satin isn't a good idea for july', 'the colors might not be so good together' - and I've made decisions from there

Re: Were BM dresses your decision only?
We went to RK bridal and i got there before the time i told them to meet me. I picked out about 15 dresses that i liked and the rest i left it up to them to pick a dress they liked because i would've been fine with any of those 15 choices. They eliminated some right away without trying and narrowed it down and then they all tried on the dresses and picked it. My MOH liked a different dress though than the rest of the girls when they voted, but then i had to remind her she is the MOH so if she likes that dress she can have a different dress lol

I picked styles that will compliment their bodies. My BM are my younger sisters and cousin. They trust me to pick something nice. So each one has a different dress.

Re: Were BM dresses your decision only?
Honestly, my situation was slightly unpleasant but ending up the best it possibly could. I would suggest picking a dress and sticking to it. It does get kind of messy when the you have several girls throwing in their input and since all women are different (body types, styles, skin tones) they will choose what looks best on them. I let my girls give input and it made everything much more difficult. My sister just chose a dress and said go get this one. And it turned out to be MUCH easier. JMO

Re: Were BM dresses your decision only?
The one aspect of my wedding I had planned out since I was little was blue BM dresses.
I was looking at wedding gowns with my MOH and one really involved BM (and my mom) and got sick of trying on dresses, so I told them to start trying on some things too. They tried on 3 dresses and one looked AMAZING on both of them. They loved it! It turned out it came in a blue color, so we went with it. My other girls liked it too.
I do like the dress and it was very flattering, but I sometimes wish I had shopped around more and looked at more dresses. I think part of it stems from the fact that the dress has straps and I prefer strapless (and if I had picked the dress on my own it would be strapless). I was thinking about maybe having the straps removed when they were altered, but ALL of my girls expressed that they really prefer straps, so straps it is!

Re: Were BM dresses your decision only?
Because we're having a black and white wedding - I told them that their dresses are going to be black and what styles I liked and if they were okay with the styles I picked out. We haven't made a 100% decision on a dress yet but they seem very compliant with me. Maybe pick out a bunch of different styles and see if they like those (because it's really what you want for your wedding) Or ask them to research some dresses and see what they come up with if you like their choices

Re: Were BM dresses your decision only?
I'm going dress shopping with my girls this weekend. I've picked the color but I think I want to see different style on them.
Obviously I also want them to feel comforatble in the dress that I choose which id why I figured a group trip was necessary.

Re: Were BM dresses your decision only?
I tried really hard to find a dress that I loved that everyone else liked too. I gave up and then ironically found one. So technically I picked the dress out, but in reality I picked it out among several others and let my BMs pick. Then they all picked the one I liked the best. I picked out the color.
I'm about to be in a wedding where I had no say whatsoever in the dress. And I hate the dress. I guess I wish I had some kind of say, but I know that it's her wedding end of story.
I think the best advice I can give is, pick something out that you like, but take into consideration that some people have drastically different tastes, so find a middle ground.

Re: Were BM dresses your decision only?
Im going to pick out a couple of styles and let them choose. I do want them all to wear the same dress, so its gonna be hard trying to compliment everyones body type.

Re: Were BM dresses your decision only?
My sis is having a black and white wedding, so obviously all the BMs will be wearing black. I get to wear a different dress than all the other girls since Im MOH. But she is picking out a few styles that she likes and letting everyone pick from those styles. Its a good compromise because nothing is going to look good on everyone since we are all different shapes and sizes

Re: Were BM dresses your decision only?
Good question Michelle. I think I am oging to take the girls input but ultimately it will be MY choice. You just can't please everyone (from my experience anyway)

I have 12 girls with different body types and styles so I picked out the dress to keep peace. The dress I picked is very flattering.

Re: Were BM dresses your decision only?
It's going to be my decision. I got input from them about what they would and wouldn't be comfortable in and I'll base my decision on that.
