Congratulations on your engagement! Enjoy this time because once u start planning things get hectic, but as you'll hear from other brides on this site it's all worth it

I'm asking my bridal party next month - i bought cute 'Will You Be My Bridesmaid' cards and I'm writing a poem in each one. I also ordered black tank tops with Bridesmaid embroidered on them to give them with the card. I'm sure they're gonna love it.

Congrats! The first thing I suggest you do is relax and enjoy it....buy some bridal magazines and think about how you envision your day--the dress, the venue, large or small wedding...think about finances and who/how you will pay. Mostly, take a few weeks to toast with friends and family and enjoy that ring!

edit: i had 3 bms. my sister (moh) his sister, and my bf. i got them yellow roses (for friendship) and wrote out cards letting them know how much they mean to me.

You did the first correct thing by coming here! Welcome to the addiction! You'll get a lot of great advice on here!

We officially asked our bridal party members to be in our bridal party at our e-party.

For the guys, I bought a bottle of this 'hangover cure' concoction stuff (tobasco sauce and other stuff combined... it was in a cute bottle!) - and wrote 'Will you be in our Bridal Party? (For the day after the Bachelor Party!)'

For the girls, I'm drawing an absolute blank on how I asked them. I can't believe it! lol!

First thing: eat lots of chocolate!

Next thing: Set your budget and find a hall. You can't 'set a date' until you have a reception hall and ceremony spot locked in. Halls can range from $50 per person to $250 per person (give or take) and try to write a preliminary list down of guests so you know approximately how many you'll have.

When you do this, and are ready to send Save The Dates (STDs) to your potential guests, watch out! Send them ONLY to people you KNOW you are inviting to the wedding. Obviously, close friends and family, but not co-workers and people who might have a different relationship with you by the wedding. Many girls are kicking themselves for sending STDs to people because now they HAVE to invite them to the wedding.

YAY! Congrats!!!!
First thing is relax....I didn't do anything wedding related for a month...just wanted to enjoy being engaged for a bit!
Then set a budget....book the church and hall.
Don't rush into picking your BP...take you time picking who you want by your side that day. Even though this is an exciting time, this is also the time where you find who your true friends are, so choose wisely.!
The girls are here are so great, you will be addicted in no time at all!

When I got engaged after 7 yrs together I wanted to start planning the wedding right away... My fiance's cousin gave me the best advice I have yet to receive.. she said to enjoy our engagement for two weeks WITHOUT making any plans or looking.. which meant time together, dinners out, talking about life there after, etc... My FH and I had an amazing two weeks and really 'rekindled' our love....

These boards and girls are sooo helpful and you'll get great ideas!!!

My engagement party is going to be sometime next month or in August. My fiancee has already asked the guys he wants and my girls practically know they are in the bridal party... But what i plan to do is find old pictures from when we were younger (since 3 are family and 4 are childhood friends) and make that a cover of the card and right a poem on the inside asking them to be in the party.

The first thing we did was choose a date and then started looking at reception halls/contacted the church.

I 'proposed' to my bridesmaids when I asked them. My mom found these giant engagement ring paperweights on eBay and I bought each BM one and then I opened the box for her and asked 'Will you be my bridesmaid?'
