My fiance (can't get used to that yet) popped the question in Costa RIca on 12/30/09.. and I haven't been able to stop smiling since!!!!!! (oh and crying too!!)

first thing I did after I was engaged, is decided on a date. Then reception hall. Those are the major 2 things you need to do within the next few months.
But most importantly, enjoy being engaged, and show off that ring!!!!

Figure out approx. how many people you'd like to invite, and then start looking at reception halls. Also helpful to have a loose budget in mind as well before you start searching.

CONGRATS!!!!!! First you'll want to get the church (if you're having it at a church) and the reception hall!!!!
You'll also want to sit down and plan a budget first, and figure out who is paying. Are either of your parents helping? How much can you afford? etc?
Also, start making a list of who you want to invite.

We made a list last night and it came out to over 200 people
Our issue is.. my fiance (just wrote bf and then deleted haha) is from Chicago, meanwhile I'm from NY and most of our guests will be from out of town.. We want the venue to be in a beautiful area where they can come out of their hotel and explore and see things.. Do you guys have any suggestions?
Oh and thank you all VERY much.. I've had SO many people calling me and texting me and sending me messages today that I have been just overwhelmed with all the love

it can be.... it all depends on which hall, and how many people...
there is a list on here of all the halls... i would send out some emails and make a few calls to get an idea of what a sat wedding costs
