I'm doing my happy dance cause I just booked our flights to Hawaii!!!!

We're going too! We haven't booked yet because we're using my FF miles (2 first class tickets baby!) and the airfares aren't out yet.

What islands?

What airline are you using? Are you sure you can't book yet. We used American and they told us that we had to book exactly 365 days out to even dream of using the FF miles for first class. They fill up the first class within the first week they open the seats up for Hawaii, which is before they open them up to people booking not using miles. Just be careful because we are using the same amount of miles we would have, but had to go coach.

I would call and be 100% sure.

my travel agent told us 331 days is when the fares are published. Since we're not coming back until mid-December, we can't book yet.

I'm not sure yet what miles we're using, we have 3 options:

last time we went we used my US Airways miles - however, we weren't thrilled with the actual planes.

I like American, but I think I'm about 300 miles short of 2 first class seats (I'll just buy the miles if I have to)

However, I have so many American Express points and they have the 'pay with points' system so as long as our airfare is under $3,000 they're paid in full. If it's over $3,000 we'll just put the difference on the American Express card.

Is there a way you could have bought coach but upgraded to first class? I did that on American to Italy a couple of years ago.

We're going to Oahu...My FH's uncle is letting us use his time share...im not 100% sure what the name of the hotel is, but i do know that it's away from the hustle and bustle of honolulu/waikiki

we're going to kaui and maui and staying at the hyatt in both places...(we got a better deal if we stayed at the same hotel in both places) the whole trip so far is about $8,000. That includes 5 night in each island, airfare, and renting a car...HTH

I've stayed at both Hyatts - they're amazing - you're going to love them!!!
