we're like...grown-ups or something

the thought of getting married makes me realize i'm really not a kid anymore. it's really the first time in my life it's hit me this hard.

i haven't lived with my parents for 6 years now and i've had a job, my own car and paid my own bills since before that...but it only recently started hitting me that i am actually a grown-up now, and i'm starting my life. my best friend is a mom. my sil and fsil are mommies-to-be. i'm getting married and in a few years i'll be a mom.

every once in a while lately it'll hit me again...and it feels weird to think about. but pretty cool too.

I feel like even though I'm getting marred...NOBODY looks at me like a grown-up! I feel like I'll forever be treated like a CHILD!!!

i understand
i still live at home - so i think it is easier for everyone to forget that i am not a child anymore

but for some reason - when i showed everyone my engagement pictures they got all emotional and a few people ( my cousin, sister and mom) said it was the first time ever that they looked at me as an adult, which was hard for them bc i am the baby of the family

it's tough but exciting!

I completely understand where youre coming from. For me it was when my friends and people that I have grown up with started having babies!! Thats when I was like....wow, im not a kid anymore! But now that Im getting married, I mean, thats the icing on the adult cake!! WOW!

Feeling all grown up .... hmm for me its going to be quite difficult because I have forever shared a room with my sibling. So the hard thing is going to be living together and sharing another room and a bed! So i know... its diffrent no more dating etc but its beautiful to know that someone loves you so much that he wants to spend the rest of his life with you ... its beautiful

Yes, I feel the same way! When I used my income tax check to pay my macy's and old hospital bills!
I guess thats when I realized it too!

Dawn I feel like I am treated the same way. I mean I live at home right now cause I am going to go to grad school this fall and FH is leaving for Japan in July for a whole year- so dont know if its worth it getting my own place until he comes home.

But I feel like since I live at home I am not an adult in the eyes of alot of people. I pay all of my bills I have my own car a full time job (soon with benefits- this may i will be off my parents) and i dont rely to much on my parents for anything...

WHY CANT I BE CONSIDERED AN ADULT???
