Were you dissapointed that certain people were not coming to your wedding

Obviously I know not everyone you invite can be there, but was there any people you invited that you were really surprised that replied that they were not coming. I guess I am just venting.

i am in the process of laying out our seating chart and can say as much as i am happy the number of guests didn't get out of control (we were shooting for ~100 and currently have 97, guaranteed 80) there are a few people i would have liked to have been able to come that aren't planning on it. for one, it would have made the table seating arrangements easier

the worst is when someone responds no and doesn't call and/or give an 'excuse'. not to say they must, but it's just nicer that way. there is only one couple this has happened with, and i am a little disappointed...

We have a few people that are already going to weddings the same day. I guess 9/18 is a very popular day to get married (noting that all 3 of us that have responded are getting married that day!)

9/18 is a popular day too in 2995...there's 4 people from here getting married on that day.

I had about 4 people not give reasons. Do people normally give reasons?

Not too many people do.

I had a few people give some really crappy reasons.. I wish they would have just left it as 'regretfully decline'.

But yes there are a couple of people who I really was hoping would be there and am disappointed that they will not.

There were definitely people that I was really looking forward to seeing - I was so disappointed (and a little surprised) when they responded no. Most didn't give reasons. One couple said 'health reasons' but we found out it's because they are terrified of flying into NY and getting killed by terrorists.

I've only had 2 no's. 1 was very expceted, but his wife filled it out & didn't write anything else & he didn't say anythin.g It is my boss ( not my immediate supervisor) & he lives in Maine & has 5 kids, so I didn't expect it.

The other was my 91 year old great aunt from North Jersey. She wrote a lovely note, that it would be too much of a trip for her. It would be. I understand, but I invited her son just as a courtesy b/c I invited her, so i don't know if he isn't comign& she had no ride, or if she wouldn't have come anyway.

I kinda hope he doesn't come anyway since she isn't , I am trying to keep #s down & he really was a courtesy invite.

FH is from the midwest and most of his aunts and uncles are elderly and aren't really into traveling. So they won't be coming. I also have a cousin who is in a wedding on the same day as mine. Also I have two other cousins and an aunt and uncle who won't be able to make it. Another cousin will also be studying abroad. It's pretty disappointing, but you can't plan around everyone. Mostly I feel bad about FH- he'll have very few family members there. But on the flip side, it would have been tough to afford everyone- we're inviting about 120 but will only have about 90, maybe.

9/18 is a very popular day. I have some people who are not coming that I am disappointed about but they have other parties or weddings to attend.

It's more like people we expected to come are not coming and people we didn't expect to come are saying Yes! -Kelly
